Q: I have an account where income and safety of capital are the primary objectives, though a bit of growth is also helpful. I presently have Capital Power which has done well in recent months. Since it has been somewhat flat during the same period, I wonder if a switch to Algonquin offers a chance to have the same primary objectives but a bit more opportunity for some appreciation. If it were you, would you make that change, and why or why not? Thank you for your excellent service.

Q: Similar to another question I submitted, I would like to ask about a potential switch. I presently own Linamar which has been doing well; Magna has continued to slide but generally has a favourable long term outlook. If it were you, would you sell LNR after its good momentum and acquire MG while it is beaten up, and if so, why or why not? Total return is the objective, nor are taxes a concern. Thank you for your excellent service.

Q: Hello 5i team,

The shares of Rogers Communications are at a more attractive level these days. In your opinion, have they reached a bottom or will they continue to go down because of the expectation of lower earnings due to customer rebates? Is the company a buy, hold or sell? If one was to buy, what would be a good entry point?

Many thanks for your insight.

Q: I am currently somewhat overweight bank and gold stocks. Would these covered call funds be complimentary or simply increase sector exposure even more?
It's very hard to ignore the 11% yield with GLCC and BANK for an income seeking investor.
Why is ZWB 7% while BANK is 11%

thank you

Q: Back on Aug 15 you replied to Adam "AT has bought back 3.5M shares so far in 2022".
I can see it's a good thing in that the company "believes its share are undervalued" and has "excess cask balances."
My question is: how significant is this? And do you know if the company is continuing to buy back shares given the current market value.
Thanks John

Q: Today, do you see more future growth from owning a S&P 500 etf like VFV or from a balanced equity (BE) portfolio? I own all the BE stocks in my portfolio, and I have some new money to invest. Which 4 BE stocks would you over weight at this time ie what is your highest conviction stocks? Could you give a brief reason why? Would you wait until the US Feds raise rates coming in September? The markets dropped the last time the Fed raised the rate. Do you know the date? Or just invest right now?

Q: Hello 5i,
Zim. once the darling of the stock reporting media now seems to turn out to be a goat.

1. Was it a "pump and dump" scheme or does it still have legs after this present mist clears?

2. Is there any news as to why it has dropped so much so quickly?

3. Should I just move on or leave it and collect the dividends until its resurrection?

Please take as many credits as needed.
thank you
Stanley

Q: HI 5i,

Interested in your thoughts on the FPX news release from today, announcing the results of its study to evaluate the production of nickel sulphate for the electric vehicle battery supply chain from FPX's Baptiste project.

How much more compelling does this announcement make the company as an investment? The CEO has stated that it does not expect the project to actually be producing nickel until 2029.

Thanks,
Tom

Q: Hi,
Mr. Jeremy Grantham is predicting that the bursting of this current Super Bubble is almost here! Though reading his newsletter I couldn't find any specific date. His prediction is based on Fundamental analysis though some Technical Analysts have predicted the capitulation is not here yet as well. It seems that there is a convergence of these two seemingly opposing disciplines.

Any thoughts on Mr. Grantham's predictions?

Q: Just got to say while I do the trading and the paperwork or spreadsheet updates, it all comes down to what you do...analyzing the stocks and then sharing on 5iR your convictions about them. Also sharing your knowledge/insight about this and that about questions I'm wondering/pondering about. So really, you are the lynchpin behind my successful portfolio. Much thanks.....Oh yea, keep "motoring", eh?! .......Tom
