Q: I have held TOY for a number of years. It has been a frustrating ride. They have lots of cash, a great balance sheet and a seeminly strong presence in the toy industry ..... but it never seems to get the same multiples as its peers. Every once in a while it reports a decent quarter or offers encouraging guidance and a twinkle of its potential is shown, but it just never seems to build on the momentum. I hate to be selling TOY "at the bottom" if the pendulum is about to swing back hard, but I am considering selling TOY and increasing my small holding in ECN. ECN seems to be a much more shareholder friendly company with strong management who are seeing their sp under pressure as well. Which do you think has more potential for relatively safe, oversized returns over the next 5 years ? If you have concerns about both, and think there are better alternatives, where would you put your money instead?
Many Thanks

Scott

What is QXI?

Is it safe to buy on this exchange?

Does the company look okay to you to buy?

Thank you.

Q: Further to your response to an inquiry about Knight Therapeutic results, could you comment in any detail on management performance. They have been in charge for at least five years, the cash position is down from $800M to $145M {after buying GBT and company shares, etc.) and the stock price is down half from the $10 plus when Goodman brought them in and then disappeared.
I know he had an accident, but I saw him on BNN a couple of years ago and he looked fine, just made too much money on Paladin.
There just doesn't seem to be any drive to improve the company and increase shareholder value. Management seems unmotivated. Should Goodman replace them or sell the company to someone who can realize it's potential before I turn 100?
Thank youl.

Q: Hi Peter,

I will soon be receiving my pension funds from my ex-employer to put in my LIRA.
Can you suggest a few stocks with a decent upside....time frame 10-15 years.

Q: Could you please comment on FRU's Third Quarter results and your expectations for the stock over the next 12 months considering these results, the company's guidance, production growth and your assessment of oil and gas prices over this period. I currently own shares in the company. Would you continue to hold the shares or perhaps, add to the position?

Q: More of a general question/comment. I wonder if you've ever experienced this or have suggestions?

I tried to make a purchase today of CASH.TO, the Horizon High Interest Savings Account ETF with my BMO Investorline account and the trade was not allowed, with the notification that only sell transactions are allowed for that security.

When I called the help desk, I was told that their internal policy does not allow investors to purchase any high interest savings account ETFs. Of course, they would be more than happy to open a BMO savings account for me!!

I was able to purchase this security just fine via Scotia iTrade. I am completely at a loss to understand the rationale here, but thought I'd post the question here as to whether this is standard practice in the industry or is there some inherent risk to this security that I'm completely missing that would cause them to blacklist it?

Thanks,

Ryan
