Can you please recommend a web site or an app (free or on a paid subscription basis) for managing stocks.

Q: Please comment on earnings. I’m holding at a loss and don’t know whether to sell. Looks like a miss on this Q. The question is whether to hold and hope for a recovery. Thanks.
Further to my last question, do you think the sales miss is due to the economy or do we have to worry about customers not needing the apps service? Is the lower sales due to the economy or something more fundamental to the product? Thanks!

Q: I am debating taking a half position in MRU and EMP-A or a full position in DIR-UN. The two grocery stores are down a bit but will there not be consumer pressure to keep prices reasonable which could influence profits? I have no idea! What would the experts at 5i suggest here?

Q: Hi,
This morning Hector had asked you about www.stockcharts.com This is not a question but comments.

1. On Cyber Monday, Stockcharts typically do a "Sale" . One can get up to 3 months extra if one subscribes for 12 months. So, you pay for 12 months but use it for 15 months.
2. The MID level subscription seems to offer a lot more than the Basic version. The Pro level, well, it is for the PROS!!
3. Their educational tools , some of which are freely available on You Tube, are very useful. One may want to look at these clips before they decide if it is for them or not.
Search with StockchartsTV
4. Tradingview, Finviz and even koyfin(the less expensive versions) are probably competitors.

Hope this helps.

Q: "Thomson intends to return "at least $2 billion, which will be combined with a share consolidation or reverse stock split", to be funded by proceeds of the sale of LSEG shares later in 2023."

Do you have more information about this reverse stock split and how it might affect investors who currently hold the stock. Is it in an investors best interest to purchase more shares or wait to see what the actual transaction will be.

Thanks for your usual great service, Len

Q: Hello 5i Team

I currently hold shares in Canadian Utilities (CU) and a smaller position in Emera (EMA).

With CU recent dividend increase of 1 %, I am beginning to become disillusioned with CU, as they appear to have minimal growth. ATCO's recent dividend increase was approximately 3 %.

If I sell my CU position and buy EMA, I will reach my target holding of EMA. I would then look to buy ACO if it drops to approximately $40 (potentially selling puts to generate income).

Questions

1 - Does this seem a reasonable course of action?

2 - Should I continue to hold CU and slowly buy EMA to hit my target holding?

2 - Should I sell my CU position and buy ACO?

Thanks

Q: I am down slightly on Aritzia and like it for the long term. I usually like to buy and hold but feel this is going to be a very volatile year for consumers. My concern is the shorter term outlook as the rising rate environment is likely to place increasing pressure on consumer discretionary stocks. As a 2023 move I’m considering selling ATZ, with a look to repurchasing when rates start coming down (who knows but perhaps later this year). In the short term, I’m considering trading ATZ for a dividend stock in the energy sector such as CNQ or ENB. Could you please evaluate this strategy, based on projections today. Essentially, which position do you think will result in the largest gain by the end of 2023? Thanks so much for your insight.
