Q: Hi with interest rates beginning to edge lower what would be the sectors most likely to benefit? Could you give me a couple of your favourite picks for each of those sectors. Would you be edging in, fully buying in, or hold off for a possible October correction? With the likely chaotic return of Trump to the Presidency would the Renewable stocks such as BEPC be at risk of correcting under this scenario? He does not like windmills much... Thank you for your service and deduct credits as you see fit.

Q: Thank you for your wise answer last week: Sentiment toward the company is fairly poor right now and toward the discretionary sector more widely. FIVE remains a strong company fundamentally with a long runway for growth via store openings but we might give them one more quarter for a bit more clarity/visibility before adding to the name.

The stock tumbled 25% yesterday and the CEO is out and the stock is at 76$ now. What would you do now ? Is the decline an overreaction ? Thanks again !

Q: Hi Peter & team,

I am curious about your thoughts with regards to MindMed (MNMD). They are a US biotech that is involved with clinically supervised psychedelic therapy for PTSD, anxiety, etc.

Promising research has come out of Johns Hopkins led by Roland Griffiths. Public trust still needs to be ascertained, however, even if trust seems to be waning slowly with conventional medicine.

Would this be a holding that you expect to do well in the long term?

Any other non-conventional biotech firms that show promise?

Thank you!

Regards,
Andrew M.

Q: The switch to small-mid caps predicted by the 5i team is evident in the past few days. Seems to be in part at the expense of large caps that have been very successful in the past year (largely tech names). Many of us have a diversified portfolio that includes small through large cap holdings. However, is there sufficient uninvested money on the sidelines to support a broad range of gains or do we need to adjust our portfolios, away from AI names, for example, to profit from the rotation? The AI story seems to be in early stages but the market may not be adequately supported or rational in the short term. Do nothing and stay the course or react and trade with the trend?

Can you please compare each of these companies using the valuation metric you believe to be the most appropriate given their business models?

Q: Hi 5I, my question is more about portfolio construction. I have moved both AMT and CCI to the communications sector of my portfolio to raise the percentage in that sector and to decrease the financial sector or REITS. It it fair to do such things as it does feel like they belong in the communications sector.
Thanks

Q: I am currently only hold MG in the consumer discretionary sector and need to increase my exposure to the sector. MCD, SBUX and LULU have all dropped over the last few quarters with worry of the US consumer pulling back their purse strings. What are your thoughts on those three and what Canadian stock in the consumer discretionary sector interests you today? Long term buy and hold investor.

Q: Tourmaline has been on a slide recently. I am looking for a bounce and will be selling my position and would have thought the excessive heat in the US and parts of Canada would have supported the price of Nat Gas and thus Tou. That hasn’t happened.
Could you provide your opinion on the short term, 3-6 months, price of Nat Gas and Tourmaline’s stock price?

Q: Good evening,

I am relatively new to options and would like to buy either a straddle or a strangle (using options with around 500 days til expiration). Would it be possible to get a list of maybe 5-10 companies for which the implied volatility is significantly lower than the historic volatility? Also what other factors would you look for in a company that you are doing a straddle/strangle on?

Thank you very much,

Aidan

Q: In the "rotation" that is moving through the market what would be your top 5 stocks in each of the US and CDN markets that stand to benefit most (listed in order of conviction if relevant) and a brief note as to why.

Thanks,
