Q: Do you have any strong opinions about this ETF from Horizon for a long term hold? It tracks 6 Canadian bank stocks with 25% leverage. Is the cost of the leverage cheaper for them than it would be for a retail investor to borrow to invest?

Q: Good morning, I hope you and the office are enjoying the last full week of summer. I would like your 30+ years of insight on this "largest monopoly trial in modern era" with the DOJ and Google. Is this something to be concerned about? Haven't we been here before ?
Thanks

Q: Hi guys
Northwest Company keeps hitting new lows. I see current earnings of 2.42 and a PE of 12.6. Do you know what the earning are expected to be for 2024? I am assuming one reason the stock has dropped so much was because sales would have been negatively affected in their stores in the North West Territories in towns like Yellowknife and Hay river. I guess we will see how significant that is when earning are released on September 13th.
At these levels how compelling a buy do you consider NWC? I am thinking of adding to my position but it still would be less than a 3% weight.
Thanks for everything you folks do.

Q: What is the outlook for arbor metal on venture, is it a good entry point
Q: I was assigned a stock on which i sold a put. When selling the put i clicked the box for uncovered put. In fact, though, i did have the shares to cover it. I would like to sell them now to claim a capital loss. But I am not sure where i sit in terms of that. I am getting a little muddled but i think I will have to wait 30 days. No?

Q: Am looking at adding some QQQ (or similar) in my TFSA but am wondering if now is the best time. Also, I am not as familiar with Invesco and usually go with iShares. They have XQQ but it is in Canadian dollars and hedged. Would IYW be similar to QQQ? Are you quite comfortable with QQQ? Would you be able to suggest an entry price for whichever one you recommend? Thank you.
Q: Hello. My portfolio is currently composed of all equities and approximately 10% cash. I would like to move some money 15-20% out of equities into fixed income. What would you suggest is a simple, yet effective way to achieve this? Invest directly into bonds? Buy a bond ETF? Bond mutual fund? Short or long-term bonds? Corporate or government? Can you suggest some bond ETFs or mutual funds?
Thank-you.
Thank-you.

Q: What ETFs would you recommend to use to represent the international portion of a portfolio? What ones would you use for:
1. Europe
2. India
3. Japan
4. South America
I have excluded China because I don’t trust their reporting. How would you divide that 30% up? Is there any other countries/areas that you would view as investable that I am forgetting.
Thanks in advance.

Q: These stocks seem to be in a serious downtrend, in the case of NPI more than cut in half. What's going on? Interest rates aside are investors just giving up on "going green"? Or are these unbelievable bargains like the Canadian banks in 08/09?
Q: whats your take on Draftkings
Q: Hi 5i
Is anything expected of AQN in the near to mid term to turn its fortunes around ? You've mentioned previously you consider it a hold ... how long would you monitor this one for signs of a turnaround ? Frustrated but willing to see how this plays out.

Q: Is it a buy, and if so, at what price? Thanks
Q: I know you do not get involved with European companies to a great extent. Could you please have a look at Grenke AG, a German leasing company and provide me your opinion of their financials/profitability. Thank you

Q: Hi all just curious about your opinion on SBSW and noticed it has been a while since any comments were posted. PE and div look interesting just jurisdiction concerns.
Q: What is your opinion on T-Mobile as a growth stock over the next 3 to 5 years. Thanks.
Q: Hi- I am wondering if a small cap ETF would be a good choice for a RSP account (e.g. XCS and XSU specifically)? Aiming for low risk in this account.
Thanks

Q: Hi 5i team,
Can you please suggest 5 Cdn companies that have hit recent 52 week lows that you would s-l-o-w-l-y start accumulating, say over the next 3-6 months....(knowing they could possibly go another 5-10% lower over that time period)? I was thinking in the small-mid cap space. I know buying in downward momentum is not the ideal scenario.
Alternatively, can you also list 5 Cdn companies in the same space hitting recent 52 week highs that you would start to accumulate?
Cheers,
Steve
