Q: Hi, can you give me your thoughts on some Cyber security stocks?
Is now a good time to be edging into these stocks or should I be waiting for a pullback everyone seems to say is coming soon?
I'm thinking of starting a position in either Crowdstrike or Palo Alto. Which would you recommend or do you have others you would prefer?
Thanks
Harry

Q: Hi 5i Team -My question is actually more on the future of AI. In an answer to a recent question on Google, you mentioned that the company is investing heavily in AI. In your opinion is this a concern? From current information and articles it seems that AI has its flaws and maybe even ethical questions around some of its applications. Could you please provide me with your outlook on AI, its strengths and weaknesses, and specifically how this might affect an investment in Google - and other companies that are investing in this technology. It's Friday night so there's no need to respond until sometime next week. Have a good weekend!

Q: Hi,

I'm looking for a CDN growth/tech ETF and I was astonished to kind TLF has a dividend of 6.5%?? And TXF has a dividend of 15.6%?? Is this true and is it safe?

I don't understand why growth ETFs would have dividends like this? Of the 3 ETFs mentioned, which would you recommend?

Q: Aehr Test System (AEHR) recently announce offering of common shares $25 million of shares. In a sense, for this offering, the working capital will be increase by $25 millions. But the total number of shares outstanding will be increase by $25 millions. In the short term, there is $25 million of shares available for sale.
My question,
(1) Is my understanding of what I said above is correct?
(2) what do you think, why a company raise money At-the-Market instead of through the dealer of slot sale to the public.
(3) what do you think, the impact on share price short term and long term.

Q: Hi,
I am pretty confident that I am correct! But wanted to make sure.

I need to help our adult "child" to buy a place. (Bidding wars have disappeard and some sense of normalcy has returned. Prices are still at least 10% higher than normal I would say!)

If I take 10,000 out of my TFSA, on January 01 2024, I can put in 10,000+6500=16500. Correct? Assuming in 2024 TFSA contribution remains at 6500.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Mano.

Q: Hi There,
I just wanted to confirm that if you transfer a security from a cash account to a RRSP account, any accrued capital gain on the transferred securities on an in-kind contribution to an RRSP is immediately taxable to you, while any loss on such a transfer would be denied from being claimed as a capital loss.....is this correct!

If so, if you sold the security in the cash account and then transferred the cash to the RRSP, would you then be able to claim the capital loss?
Thank You,

Q: Hello 5i,
Please provide comments on magna’s earnings.
1) has it written off it’s stranded assets in Russia?
2) is it backing the wrong EV horse by supplying Fisker its equipment?
3) in the industrial space I hold: Cnr,ata, and tfii. In consumer cyclical: mg,shop, amzn. Is it time to throw in the towel on mg? Doo and atz seem like better bets as magna looks as though it’s going to give back any gains over last 5 years and headed back to October 22 lows (apart from the 2.7% dividend.) risk reward not looking so good today for that sub-sector.
Tia,
