Q: I am considering adding CAT to the industrial sector of my TFSA to complement WSP. I would like a relatively safe 10% annual return from CAT. I note that WSP ate CAT's lunch with 3&5 year returns. Cat is doing better over 3,6 and 12 months. The impetus for the CAT addition is the infrastructure bill $$$$ in the US. Is this a good plan for a 3-5 year hold? Thank you

Q: If you were setting up a TFSA with CAD equities only, what five stocks do you recommend ranked by order you would purchase. If you could give a brief reason as to why you recommended each equity, that would be appreciated.

Q: Morning Peter & Team,

I've done very well lately, large part thanks to you. Now I am preparing to take some off the table. Plan on investing part into a 1 yr term @ 5.65% which I figure is pretty good. I am also looking for names (stocks or ETFs) which generate good cash flow and support high sustainable dividends. Can you give me 3 names (Canada & US) that you think deserve consideration? Preferably minimal debt if possible please.

Thanks for all you do

gm

Q: What do you think of investing in this company at the current time? The national post ran an article today about the weight loss benefits of Ozempic. And to maintain the weight loss, one needs to take it for life. Do you think this opportunity has already been priced into the stock? Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks

Q: I hold these Brookfield Infrastructure preferred which currently pay 5% but reset March 31, 2023 at 6.642%. I can happily continue to hold these, but alternatively I have the option to convert them to Series 10 Preferred which will pay a floating Rate of 3% above the Government of Canada 3 month Treasury Bills, reset quarterly. This will be set for the first quarter to June 30 at 7.564%.

I suppose it's a gamble on what interest rates are likely to do over the next 5 years; but do you have any thoughts on which option I should choose?

Q: Good morning and happy Friday.

Here is a fun little exercise, if you had 1 million $ concentrated portfolio of 5-10 stocks and had a goal of an average 6%-8% return annually via combination of dividend and capital appreciation of holdings what stocks would you own? Canadian holding, and combo Canadian/U.S.A holdings. So 2x portfolio examples.

I realize this is just for fun and not financial advice. Thank you for the years of great service.
