Q: Writing in again because I keep hesitating about how to start a high growth all equity portfolio..

For context, I am 39 years of age, with a comfortable income, and planning on working about 25 years. This would be for retirement money.

You previously answered you would be comfortable with an SP500 index fund as VFV of SPY as opposed to an all in one equity fund such as VEQT or XEQT, from what I understood.

Can you please suggest a porfolio of 5 to 7 all equity ETFs that you believe to be superior to the all in one variety. I don’t necessarily care about the truisms about absolutely needing to be geographically diverse. And I certainly prefer to avoid Canadian home bias.

Thank you.

Q: Western forest Products (WEF) has really taken a pounding. It reports its second quarter results on July 31. west fraser already reported and the shares have been rising. I know they are different forestry companies but was the lift in share value because there is optimism in the forestry industry or was it specific to West Fraser. I was thinking of averaging down on my WEF holding just because the share price is so low. The market cap is only about 130 million and I believe that WEF still has little debt so my way of thinking is, "this can't go much lower!!" Surely all their 6 sawmills, industrial land, three manufacturing plants and all their timber rights have to be worth more than 130 million!!! Or am I looking at this all wrong?

Q: Hi team,

I am trying to pick a 2 or 3 small/mid-caps for strong growth for at least 5 years. What are your views on the stocks above ? Do they fit the bill ? What is the risk factor ? Any better suggestions ?

Gratefully,

Jacques IDS

Q: I have a 4% position in BKNG. With yesterday’s pullback and it being close to 10% off it’s high ..if it were you, would you bring it to a full 5% or would you recommend a different investment? For small caps, if you had $50k to invest and risk/concentration wasn’t a factor.. what would you look at?

Q: I bought this stock, because I thought there was a pent-up demand for new pilots. I have lost 10 -15%, since I bought it, now for the last couple of years it has gone no where, but sideways. So, is there actually a shortage of pilots?
Also, what is the forecast for the remainder of this year and next year. I am seriously thinking of selling. Now I am looking for your advice as to whether to sell this stock or keep it.
Thank you
Earl

Q: Due to the amalgamation of G Mining Ventures and Reunion Gold I received a disbursement of shares in Greenheart. The only information I could find online is that Dundee Corporation holds 12% of the outstanding shares. Will it be publicly traded?
