Q: re: win
why would managment raise the dividend in the face of a disappointing quarter (a reduction in adjusted earnings per share) if they did not forsee a near-term rising earnings profile?
thanks...

Q: Hi Peter,
Daniel Drimmer was part of a group that took transglobe apartment reit public, then lead a group to privatize those same properties. A few months later, again, Mr. Drimmer is now taking some apartment properties in Montreal public (TN.UN).
First off, can you offer any insights as to why Mr. Drimmer would go public with a set of properties (tga.un); then privatize them a few years later; then take another group of properties public (tn.un)?
And secondly, what are your thoughs on True North Apartment Reit?
Thanks.

Question: What is your long term outlook for Brookfield Office Properties (BPO-T)? Seems cheap on a P/E basis but has a PEG in the +7 range (if the source I am using is correct). Share price remains relatively flat, unlike the REIT sector in general.
Thanks.

Q: CIC Energy (ELC) will merge with Jindal Steel at $2 but the stock is trading at 1.77. Do you think there would still be some risks to this merger agreement or is it ok to hold it from this point to get around 13% return in two months.
Q: Peter, great job. Your comments please on 2 positions I hold: Major Drilling MDI and SNC. Buy, sell or hold? What are your views on the sectors they operate in and on the companies themselves? Would you recommend any alternatives? Thanx.
Q: Hi, more of a request than a question. Is it possible for you to include tax treatment of dividends in your reports. I know the tax is not the main consideration in an investment decision but it can help decide which type of account to purchase. For example in 2011 Boston Pizza distributions were almost 100% taxable as other income, A&W dividends were 100% "ineligible" while DH paid 100% "eligible" dividends. Different tax rates apply to all three - if I was interested in buying Boston Pizza I'd be looking at using RRSP/TFSA funds to do it. thanks for the great service, Ed
