Q: I have US exposure through a company pension that tracks the S&P. It represents about 20% of my overall holdings. I have recently come into enough US cash to add two or three new individual holdings, or perhaps buy an ETF or two that would complement the S&P tracking pension. I would welcome your thoughts and suggestions for individual stocks or ETFs that would be suitable additions.

Q: A retired colleague in his early 80s is selling his income properties and wishing to invest the proceeds in a manner that will produce solid income with little risk. He is taken with HMAX and its 13% plus dividend. What are your thoughts on HMAX given his circumstances? What is the maximum percentage of his portfolio might you suggest he invest in HMAX? And what other Canadian or US ETFs with would you suggest he consider given his age/need for income? Thank you.

Q: I did reorganise my portfolios in 2022 for a majority of diversified dividend ETFs and a minority of selected excellent dividend stocks. This strategy was satisfactory ,and I shall not sell this content in 2023.My strategy in 2023 will consider the possibility of a bear market,I shall only " add-on" some stocks on weakness .Could you list 10 canadian+10 us stocks ( not ETFs), among the safest in a bear market in your opinion, including 7 dividend stocks+3 growth stocks for each list, and rank them for safety if possible, many thanks,JY

Q: What are your current thoughts on EXPI and its recent earnings report? Do you see it as a strong recovery potential and would you add to a position that is down 66% with a current weight of 0.5%? Or do you think it is time to move on to other names that you have higher conviction in (please suggest some other US names)?
