Q: Trying to understand todays (noon Thursday) reaction to what looked like positive earnings. Shop is down. I would have expected better. Can you speculate on what’s happening and why? Is this a buy opportunity?
Q: Hi, Why market reacted negatively and SHOP sold off $10, in 2 days, despite excellent results and slew of analyst upgrades ? Thanks

Q: Hi Team,
Shop is falling again today despite earnings beats and price target increases across the board. Is it a good time to buy the shares from todays profit takers? Also in general do you see this market sell off sparked by the fitch downgrade of the US credit rating a buying opp? There has been some brutal sell offs over the last 2 days. Which names would you be looking to buy in this weakness? Thanks
Shane

Q: XTD is a split share corp that invests in shares of TD bank. TD has had some issues but is now seen as somewhat undervalued, with good potential upside. XTD, currently at $4.00, pays a 15% dividend, monthly, as long at the net asset value is above $12.50. It is currently at 12.95. The risk would seem to be the risk that the TD stock underperforms. Would appreciate your thoughts.

Q: Can you provide some insight into why Parex is dropping again? Results today looked reasonable.
Q: I’m a buy and hold investor. Fundamentals need to change to sell. I have both Manulife and Sun Life in different accounts. Looking at both holdings over 10 year hold. Sun life stock performance outweighs Manulife performance. Question? Should I swap Manulife for SunLife or keep positions in both? Manulife is in my non registered, RRSP and TFSA accounts.
As always appreciate your platform

Q: I did reorganize all my portfolio for a dividend focused portfolio , and already did sell most of the stocks for selected ETFs ,except the 12 stocks mentionned.I wish to only keep 12 "financially safe stocks" on long term + at low risk of dividend cut.If those 12 stocks do not all match this objective, wich ones could be sold and then replaced by what individual stock suggested ? regards,JY
Q: I am looking to park some cash in a cash account for 1 to 2 years. I am looking for income that is relatively safe and not concerned with minimized capital gains from capital gains. Your thoughts please. Thank you. If you have other suggestions for consideration, please advise.

Q: Wondering if it is time to trade T. Been reading about NWC and wondering if this is a good dividend stock to replace T. Are there other dividend stocks you would recommend.
Q: Hi,
Just wondering your take on Lantheus' earnings, guidance and disposition. I understand that the market doesn't like to the Q3 guidance but the reaction seems over the top. Thoughts?
Cheers, Chris

Q: Can you explain why FTS dropped so much today? I thought the quarterly report yesterday was quite decent - did I miss something? I didn't hear the conference call - was that the problem?

Q: These 9 companies are the holdings in a growth oriented Canadian TFSA. The intent was for them to be long-term holds. However, NVEI, ILLM and LSPD are all down over 50% and some so rejigging is being considered.
Would you consider any of them to be a SELL?
Of the 9, which 2 would you be least inclined to keep in the portfolio and why? Please suggest potential replacements.
Please rate (1-10) the remaining 7 for additional money today.
Thank you,
Peter.

Q: I sold TRP today at basically a break even price because I do not want to wait out the final outcome of their recent split up plan and to see how their debt is allocated etc. I was in the stock for long term income given I am recently retired. It will be hard to find an equivalent yield, given capital preservation is a prime objective along with the income. TRP was held in a non registered account for tax advantaged dividend income.
With long term capital preservation a goal along with income generation, and that I hold all of the above listed companies already in appropriate proportions and don't wish to add to them or their sectors (no more utilities, financials or telecoms) what other Canadian blue chip dividend companies would you consider for long term hold with decent dividends for income? I also already have enough allocated to bonds, GIC's and cash accounts so I'm not considering these assets either.
Manageable debt levels and ability to maintain dividend growth, hopefully at the rate of inflation or higher is the main criteria I would hope to have in replacing TRP for the long haul. Thank you for your valued insight in giving me suggestions to look at.

Q: Are etfs the best way to incorporate a Japan exposure into one's portfolio? If so, which do you recommend as the best combination of dividend/growth? Thanks.
Q: What odds do you put on a dividend cut this year or 2024?
Q: I was pleased with the recent quarterly results and you say you are "comfortable" with them. So, why is the stock dropping so much today?
Q: I hope you can provide some insight. I have done very well in the markets, generally following your suggestions and portfolio stocks. My stocks however, have tended to lean into a much larger weighting in Canadian oil stocks and I am a big fan of Eric.
My question is I would like to diversify a portion 5-10% into coins/precious metals. Do you agree, and is it a good strategy to go with Sprott or some other reputable dealer and accumulate coins or should I buy bullion or?
Thank you for a great service!

Q: I was very impressed with the speed at which Datadog developed new modules for the I/T Infrastructure management and was able to quickly grow sales of adjacent products into customers. Somehow, I built it into my top portfolio position (15%). I get the sense that the company has gone out of favour for a few reasons (growth rate, and margins I think). Should I have faith in my original thesis or should I sell at break-even? I suppose I could sell some, but I'm trying to keep a streamlined portfolio so I have fewer companies to keep on top of. Any thoughts and opinions on DDOG are most appreciated! Thanks.
