Q: I am hearing that gold bullion dealers in Vancouver are "out of stock on bullion" and only taking orders if you pay 3 weeks in advance! Buying of physical has evidently been VERY strong during this pullback in gold prices and as Sprott recently suggested, goes contrary to previous Tops in the gold market. What is your take? Thanks.
Q: Have owned PKI for about 2 yrs. It has slipped About 23.5% in the last few months. Your comments please. Thank you
Q: Hi Peter can I get your opinion on PTS. My cost is about 30.00 as I've held since you mentioned it way back, I was thinking of averaging down, doing so I can get it to about my buy out if it goes to around 24, I,m thinking it might not get to 30, any thoughts on that. Thanks, Nick
Q: Are you aware of an ETF that shorts the Canadian dollar (relative to US dollars) in either Canada or USA?
Q: Peter - I own DHX MEDIA. The stock has not done much lately however today it is up over 7%. I cannot find any reason for the sudden run-up. Is something happening in the background that I don't know about? What are your thoughts.
Q: I'm looking at a company that does make large acquisitions, with their last major purchase, they didn't increase their share count of the company it bought. However, this past quarter they have increased their share count of another company by 360%, I would see that as an indicator that they want to buy it, but since they haven't done that in the past, could it mean something else.
Q: Hello, and thanks for previous answer re letter-grade rating system. Any comment on what Brookfield's announcement today about issuing preferred shares through a bought deal today will mean for a 5i holder of the common stock? Short and long term?
Q: I am looking for a high yield bond fund to complement my existing preferred share / fixed income holdings of CPD and CBO. Your recommendation would be appreciated. Thanks.
Q: I would like to add a pipe line (defensive stock with dividend) to my portfolio. I see that in your model portfolio you hold Inter Pipeline and Enbrdige. Should I run with these, or do you have any other opportunities I should consider? If I want to add a 5% position, should I split between the two or do you currently favour one postion over the other? Thanks.
Q: I am a large shareholder in mart- mmt, so they announced there 2012 earnings 30 minutes ago ,everything seems ok and what i mean by that is the pipeline losses were already known, and construction of new pipeline proceeds.my question is since you are way better than me at analyzing this, what is your opinion, is the dividend safe etc. thanks dave
Q: i hold soft choice, SO, what should I sell or hold with the buy out offer?
Q: Hi Peter and team I have a holding in SEA it is down about 30% since I bought , should sell or buy mor to average down or sit for the long haul.
Thank you
Jim.
Thank you
Jim.
Q: I would like your opinion on ATH,FM and MFC for 3-5 years time frame. Thanks. Subrata
Q: Hi Peter and team,
People are painting a doomsday scenario for gold to fall to somewhere near $1,000. In this scenario what should be the strategy with regards to gold or base metal stocks. Unfortunately my weighting right now is pretty high and I am down in almost all my holdings like ANV, CS, ENT, NXX, PTQ and LYD. Should I sell all of them and take about 12% of portfolio hit or stay invested in these and hope for the best.

Q: Hi Peter, just a follow up comment to the Becker Milk Company (BEK.B) question that was asked earlier. I am fairly certain that the bulk of the business is renting space to Mac's (owned by Alimentation Couche Tard), and that they don't operate any more Becker's convenience stores.
It might be a bit small for your coverage, but it ticks a few boxes, such as no analyst coverage, no debt, nice dividend (with special dividends now and then), and large management ownership.
With regards to the possible takeout, my initial thoughts were that Couche Tard would get sick of paying rent and buy them out. I am now thinking that it would be a decent way for a REIT to make inroads with a large potential tenant. Does that sound reasonable, or am I way off base?

Q: Hi 5i. Could you tell me why U (Uranium Participation) is trading down at $4.88 but on March 31 they estimated nav of $5.74. Is it a buy when the difference gets that much. Thanks
Q: Hi 5i Team,
I subscribed to the service, which I really enjoy by the way, in December. I have started to work on building a "5i" portion in my RRSP and TFSA. My plan was to over the course of the year attribute around $3,000 per month to 5i stocks until I have 20 selections. Unfortunately the stocks I have chosen for the last 4 months have performed pretty badly and I am off around 7% YTD. I picked CFN, PKI, WIN and LIQ. My next investment plan is for May. With that said, should I:
1. Take my licks and sell any of the above?
2. Buy more of any of the above to average down?
3. Buy another stock? If so which would be your selection?

Q: Hi Peter & Staff;
I watched Ret.a for almost a year and then when it hit 11.50 i bought 1000 shares. I researched the financial statements, phoned the ceo,and all due diligence. I considered the arrival of target, and asked many ladies if they had the same class of clothes, and the answer was a blunt no in most cases. Shortly after I bought it started the decline and is 8.25 this morning.
I read in the notes that they are buying back shares. D you think this is driving down the price?
Regards
BEN

Q: SES Do you see any reason(s) for the big spike in volume today for Secure Energy Services?
