Q: Hello Peter: I have an almost 6% position in DI.UN, favoring this company because of its exposure to the only country in Europe being run by a relatively sane government. My most recent purchase was during Fridays dip following announcement of another financing. What is your view of this company and should there be any concerns with Dundee International returning to the financing well so soon after its previous visit? Thank you and kind regards.

Q: A friend sent me an article from the Wall St Journal about some large US investors shorting Canadian banks. We have positions in all the major Canadian banks except NA. We like the dividends, but is there a danger of a big drop in price?

Q: I have been pondering on Xerox for quite a while now? What do you think? I do know a couple of service men who fix the copiers and such- and they are older type gents- not quite asleep at the wheel but?? However their billings are cleaned up quite a bit over the past couple of years- they seem to be getting things figured out again.

Q: Rifco appears to be in same business as CFN, but in the segment that competes directly with the banks. It appears to be much smaller, less liquid and far more expensive. Obviously since its smaller it can grow much more quickly but competing head to head with TD and Scotia doesn't seem very lucrative. Am I missing something?

Q: Can you please comment on the rmm.un halt and news today. It generally seems positive but not sure how material it is - is it just an extension or something more significant? Is Remcomm looking good as an investment here?

Q: A suggestion: Sometimes, especially after an event, two or more subscribers want your take on a company. You could put the letters together (one after the other), and write your answer underneath, instead of having to comment on each letter separately.

Q: Good morning. When assessing a company's stock, how important are metrics such as price to earnings and price to cash flow?

What is the most important metric for a retail investor to be aware of, or is there such a thing? Does it depend on the type of business or sector the company is involved in?

Finally, for P/E, is it more important to pay attention to 'current' P/E or 'forward' P/E? How reliable are the quoted ratios, since the value seems to vary a bit from from site to site for some companies? Also, some sites will often not quote a current and/or forward P/E. Any reason for this?

Thanks as always for your valuable information and advice.
