Q: Hello: I have a general question, about using stop losses. Can you provide some guidance about how best to use these? I am wondering how long to put them in for, and should I think of them as soon as I buy a stock or let it go up and then put in my purchase price soon, so I don't incur any losses, for example. Any advice is appreciated.

Q: Hi Peter and thoughts on the report yesterday issued by Veritas Investment research in regards to the big 3 telecom companies in Canada and the possibility of increased competition in this space? I see Rogers took a pretty good hit. The analyst is suggesting the possibility of a 15% hit in the share price of all 3 if the regulations are changed by June 5.
Thanks.

Q: GoldCorp - the selloff continues! I'm down from $32.90 and it traded down to $27 this AM. Any changes in the fundamentals that would cause me to want to dump this? There are many out there now speculating the gold bull run could be finished, if the economy keeps on picking up. Do you still hold to your thesis of a gold recovery? Strikes me odd that GoldCorp is taking larger hits than many mid caps golds on this latest selloff.

Q: I am 74 yrs old so I like to pick stocks etc with a decent yield but also short term growth prospects, i.e. 5 years. I have been following your replies in regard to financial sector/banks and wonder what would be better; a higher yielding financial company/bank or an ETF specialising in these. One I have considered is zwb. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

Q: Hi Peter,

I have been following True North Apartment REIT (TN.UN TSX) for a while. The results of its recent quarter announced last week looks reasonably good. However, the price of TN.UN has dropped since then. I cannot find reason for this down shift.

Do you think the current price level presents a good chance to establish a long term holding position?

Thank you.

Q: I came across a company today that has been on an amazing ride. Tesla Motors has gone from $42 to $84 since April 4,2013. The Company has built an innovative high performance electric car that has the "car world" buzzing as well as investors given the jump in the share price.
Your insight in this company would be most appreciated.
Thank you

Q: I was unfortunate enough to have bought ENT at $1.75. They released earnings yesterday which seemed positive and there was very large volume today but very minimal movement in the stock. What will it take to get this stock moving? Would positive news on Keystone be the catalyst?

Q: Hi Peter and Team, is the following correct regarding MND;

Mandalay Resources Corp MND:TSX
A quarterly dividend of $0.77 CAD per share was announced on May 14, 2013 with an ex-dividend date of May 22, 2013 and a pay date on May 31, 2013. The annual dividend for Mandalay Resources Corp is $3.08 CAD per share.

If this is correct, .256666 cents CDN per share monthly, then why is the stock trading at such a discount, at .86 cents? I don't get it, is it an error or have I misunderstood something? Thanks!
