Q: It is common for readers to ask what market expectations are for companies that you are aware of a few days before they report their earnings i.e. recently CSU, KXS and GSY. When you see stocks with bad market expectations, could you put an alert out that for example XYZ is going to have bad market expectations? In other words, give us the head's up on bad market expectations of a security before it reports earnings. I assume that NVEI would have bad market expectations before they reported. Thank you

Q: In today's Globe and Mail article, David Rosenberg argues that stocks are overpriced and concludes that "bond yields and equity prices need to adjust lower in coming months, quarters, and maybe even years. This means asset allocators should be taking profits in the overpriced equity market and placing the proceeds in oversold Treasury notes and bonds."
Do you agree with this view?

I will appreciate your insight with respect to changing our asset mix based on Rosenberg's views.

Q: Argh!! Not a good day on the quarterly earnings front for some of these names in my portfolio. After recent developments, would you still consider these names still a add/hold/sell?

I know hindsight is 20/20 but sometimes I wonder why I didn't put more of my capital into a stock like Constellation, which is just best in class and steady, rather than into these other names. I currently have a large position in CSU and others which largely offset these losses, but waking up to these drops of 20-30% are getting really irritating, but I understand this is the how it is. No pain, no gain! Thank you!

Q: Market seemed to like the great Q2 results for Stella Jones. The press release mentioned the 2023-2025 financial objects from the inaugural Investor Day in May and I noticed the plan included a >$500M cumulative return to shareholders. The current $0.92 dividend payout is roughly $54M/yr which is well short of the goal objective. Any insight into dividend raises or special dividends.

Q: For a retired investor seeking stable dividends and some growth, how would you rank these companies if one had $100,000 to invest? Are there other companies you would recommend and how would they fit into the rankings?. Current portfolio is quite well diversified, so sector is not an issue. Thank you, Ian

Q: I just rec'd a mgmt. information circular about a potential reverse exchange. They'd like to "issue exchangeable shares during the 12 month period from the date of the meeting, in connection with one or more exchange or similar transaction whereby holders of Brookfield Class A Share will be given the opportunity on a voluntary basis to exchange their Brookfield Class A Shares for newly-issued exchangeable shares on a one-for-one basis." Can you please provide a simpler explanation and how this is in the interest of the shareholder. Thanks!

Q: Hi 5i,
In your opinion, did CHR's recent quarterly report justify the significant drop in share price, and is there any sensible reason to think it might recover to at least where it was recently ($3.30 range) any time soon, or would you expect it to pretty much stay flat?
Sign me: wondering if I should have ignored the analysts who thought the name had legs and sold sooner.
Thanks.

Q: What ails AEP ? It has had scandals and blunders many years ago, but I thought they were over all that. Morgan Stanley added AEP to it s Global Dividend Fund just last month. I bought AEP only days ago and its down over 10% ; down 5% in the past 5 days. Unusual for a boring utility. I don’t see news bad enough to warrant such a drop , but seems something there could be rotten. What gives? Are complete idiots running AEP? Regulatory issues? Heat melting the already weak management brains? What is going on under the hood? Would appreciate your deeper insight, many thanks

Q: I hold some shares in Moderna and trying to find out what the future holds (2 yrs). They recently announced that their future COVID vaccine sales are expected to be above original projections, however the stock continues to come down. What is your view on this company as an investment going forward. Thank you.
