Q: Hi Gang, I live on the income generated from my investments and have about 16% invested in the Canadian Banks. I'm wondering about ZWB (banks covered-call ETF) as a double sided investment. The yield is nice, but given that the price appreciation trails that of the individual banks, would the position act as a partial hedge? And is a 10 to 15% position too high.
Thanks

Q: Hi Peter
We have about 20% of our RRSP portfolio in REITs with small positions in several different companies including CSH.UN, FCR, and HR.UN which you recommend.
We would like to consolidate our holdings into 6 larger positions.
Should we add to CSH.UN, FCR, and HR.UN? Which other REITs would you recommend?
Is 20% in REITs appropriate?
Thanks
Heather

Q: Is there a Canadian ETF that includes US tech stocks such as Apple, Microsoft, Google, etc.? If Canadians buy US ETF's, is there not some type of hold back when we sell?
Q: Follow up question regarding the reduction in the HEX dividend. How is that to be interpreted: e.g. has the fund manager done a poor job of buying/selling options, or does this type of decline correspond to the share price declines ... or something else that usually accounts for the yield reduction.
Thans again. Happy New Year.

Q: What is your view on Saputo? It's recently had a huge run with a recent acquisition. Is this price too expensive? I would be holding this for the long-term. Thank you and Happy New Year!

Q: Algoma Central price is now down where it is affordable after it split. Is it a buy for long term? Thanks
Q: Enhanced etf's: examples, HEX, HEE and HEP. These are high yielding products at current prices at least partly due to the slump in the underlying or component commodities or stocks. Taking HEX as case in point: can the 85 cent dividend be expected to continue as the share prices of the gold producers increase.
Thank you. Happy New Year and may "13" be a very lucky number for you and your team.
