Q: Any thoughts on which stocks are your favorites for 2013? Do you have a specific stock in mind that you would consider as your stock of the year? Thanks.

Q: Do you have any knowledge and input you can provide on Petrolia Inc (CVE:PEA)? Their web site can be found at http://www.petroliagaz.com/index_en.php. They are a small oil and gaz company, drilling for oil in Quebec. They hold a large number of licenses, access to quite a bit of land and have an influential investor (the Caisse de depot) on their side. They are supposedly getting closer to the production of oil. The stock is down quite a bit since its recent high. Any comments, something to consider,...or is this probably a pure gamble at this time? Thanks.

Q: Hi, Peter.
Has Regal Lifestyles Communities (RLC.TO) had a long enough history for you to provide an opinion on the company?

Q: Hi peter,
just wondered what your team thinks of copper junior AMERIGO RESOURCES INC (ARG: Toronto), yielding 6.5%.
The American housing industry seems to be recovering, & in view of the shortage of new copper discoveries I think that it may not be a bad stock for 2013 ?
Best wishes,
Paul.

Q: Peter,
I thought I'd celebrate my membership renewal by asking a question. I have been looking for a some stocks that wouldn't correlate much with resource (i.e. oil and gas, and preceious metals) names. I think some of the "sin" stocks fit the bill here and I was hoping I could get your thoughts on purchasing of Corby Distilleries and/or Diageo.

Thanks!

Q: I so love this service. Thank-you for providing it. Your blog entries have provided much food for thought on how and why I should pay more attention to how I invest as small player. The forum is equally informative for someone learning... To my question, I'm interested in your thoughts on Trimac Transportaion, TMA. I bought it last year as along term play (5+yrs)prior to its acquisition of Liquid Cargo , and noticed no other questions with regards to it in your symbol search. Cheers,Phil

Q: Hi Peter and team

Happy new year and congratulations on a great year. My question concerns Healthlease Properties (HLP.UN). On December 28th they put out an extensive list of investor questions and answers. What did you think of that and what is your current opinion on the company. Thanks.

Q: Peter. How's about a nice hefty correction of NA markets by mid to end February. I have been reading a number of SEERS and they all give "good' reason for it.

Q: I see AM { Automodular } has made a 20% move up in the past few days. Is there any news which would account for it? I want to buy but not sure if I should enter at this price.
Thank Garth

Q: Now that Passport Potash (PPI) has completed their financing (good call and thank you) do you have any further thoughts particularly on the expected Preliminary Economic Assessment.

PPI makes up about 2% of my investment portfolio and Verde Potash makes up about 3%.

Q: Peter - I have been a member for several months and very much appreciate the analysis that you provide. My question is on ADV. Alderon is a major iron ore junior in the Labrador Trough with major investment from the largest Chinese Steel Producer - Hebei. they seem to be doing everything right. Many of the directors brought consolidated Thompson on and then sold it. This company will be coming out with their feasibility study this Wednesday. What are your thoughts on this company?

Q: I am looking for a 2012 "dog" that should turn around this year and consider gold to be an opportunity. I am also looking to minimize or at least reduce risk, and willingtherefore to accept less upside.

So,does this make sense: equal weight producers( e.g. XGD), bullion ( CGL) and a yield play (PME)?

Thank you.

Q: What do you think of ALC? Earnings appear to be good, they have been buying new lower operating cost ships which are being financied through debt (the Jackman family sees no need to issue stock), according to the Royal Bank they have the highest ROE of all companies in their group. (They are probably the only company in that group!). I feel the economy is picking up so there should be a need for their ships. They ship materials to Hamilton's steel mills. The stock has recently split 10 for 1 and I think a dividend increase could be in the offing once some of the debt is paid down.
Thanks Jim

Q: I have been a shareholder of Inmet for a few years. Right now I'm up about 150% with the take-over offer. If memory serves me correctly the Globe wrote that 3 officers of the company hold 40% of the stock - so I am guessing the take-over will fail. I respect management and I expect the mine will prove profitable. However there is still 3 years to go before they pour their first ingot. Inmet forms 3% of the value of my portfolio. I am 61 years old, married and currently unemployed. (My wife is still working). Should I sell?
Thanks Jim
