Q: With interest rates currently so low and the prospect of inflation and higher rates always on the horizon, just about every fixed income specialist is advising to stay away from bonds with long maturities. Many are also advocating inflation protected or real return bonds. Given the current state of the fixed income market, what advice could you give members as to where they should be with the fixed income portion of their portfolio? Do you know how a retail investor can purchase or participate in inflation protected or real return instruments (both in Canada and the US) and do you endorse this approach at this time? Thanks.

Q: Thanks, 5i Team for all your help, Owned Davis and Henderson DH back in the old income trust days and was thinking of revisiting, primarily for income but hoping for some modest growth. When I looked at its financials, however, I was concerned with the hi level of goodwill on the books. Then I also checked RSI (Rogers Sugar) and alas they also carry a heavy goodwill asset. I can see this with a Coca-Cola, but . . .
Q: I was using MMp.un as a combo gold/income play, but see it's share price hit a new low. Is it owrth holding or should I take my capital loss and go elsewhere?
