Q: With interest rates on the rise is it time to sell my CPD Preferred share ETF and replace it with the common shares of low beta dividend payers. CPD is in a non registered account and is about 5% of my registered and non registered total holdings.

Q: Hi Peter,
CBO and XHB, both from ishares. Similar in yield, similar last 12 months return but big difference in number of holdings. 44 for CBO and 323 for XHB. Morningstar classifies XHB as low risk and CBO as avg risk. What is your opinion on both? Should I buy both? Thanks

Q: Hello
After the takeover of Premier Royalty, my Premier Royalty Warrants changed into Sandstorm Gold [SSL.TO]Warrants dated 12/04/16. I cannot find any quote or trading symbol for them.
I can find :
SSL.WT 04/23/14, and
SSL.WT.A 10/19/15, and
SSL.WT.B 09/07/17
all of which trade, but not mine. Any idea why mine don't?
Thank you, Paul

Q: Hi Peter,
When looking to purchase flow through shares do you suggest buying individual new offerings from specific companies or do you prefer the LP route with a manager etc..If so perhaps Norrep or Front Street? Thank-you.

Q: There is a lot of press about the the US becoming self sufficient in oil and that OPEC is, or will, as a result, be overproducing in the years to come. Do you support this notion that the world will have a surplus of oil? If so, how do you identify which oil stocks are vulnerable to increasing oil supplies and which ones might actually benefit from it.

Q: I have been looking at Ariad Pharma (ARIA-N). Do you think it has potential to rebound after the big drop last month?
Q: Hi Peter & Team. (SGY) Surge Energy seems to be trading poorly recently. Has your view on this company changed, either for better or worse? Thanks,
Q: With your sunny comments on November 5th on SUM, I considered adding the stock to my portfolio but am timid to do so after viewing the considerable insider selling of the stock. Would you also be deterred after seeing the selling? Thanks, Bill
Q: Hi Peter and team
I have watched Chem Trade logistics (CHE.UN)for years and it seems extremely well managed. I have it owned off-and one for a long time. I bought about 4000 shares in 2009 at a very low price and then foolishly sold out for a double at around $7- $8. I then realized my mistake and re purchased it around $15. The share price has not done a lot since but the dividends have rolled in without interruption as they did right through the 2008 crisis. Currently it has a %7 yield and a payout ratio of around 50%. It is now looking at a very big deal with General Chemical and may have to compete with some big players like Apollo Global to pull it off. So my question is (i) what is not to like? and do they have a chance to pull off this latest deal in competition with the financial engineers / hedge funds. I would appreciate your opinion on their prospects including their continuation of the old trust structure. Thanks
Ross

Q: Re WFT: Could you please shed some light on why this stock is down over 10% since peaking after earnings. I cannot find any news. Thank you
Q: Seems to me that if you can identify a fund with a good manager at inception, before they are swamped with cash, then you can do very well. Over the last while we have seen a Raymond Jeffries fund top the charts and more recently CI Canadian Growth. Are you able to identify and recommend similar funds when they occur?
Q: Hi Peter. I'm thinking of adding True Gold Mining (TGM)to my PM portfolio. My philosophy is to "invest in management" in the PM sector.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on TGM as a developer in West Africa.

Q: Hi,
I like to get your feedback on ARII. Looks like a good sector/stock in a booming economy.

Q: Fairfax just bought a controlling interest in the Keg - does this have any impact at all on the Keg Income Fund? It looks to me that this is a non- event for the Fund. The fund is up a bit today and a lot over the last month - is it a sell now?
Q: I am going to buy one of the following banks...National, TD, BMO, CIBC or BNS. Any frontrunners in the group and what do you expect dividends to do in this grouping?
Q: Peter and Team,
Thanks for the quick answer on KGI. This is just a quick follow up: when looking for other "high torque" names, I was thinking outside the gold sector. Maybe something like Amaya Gaming? Maybe something else?

Q: Peter and team,
Can you please provide thoughts on the management changes at Kirkland Lake Gold (announced today)? I've owned this for a while now and have been beat up being patient. Now I see some key people like Mark Tessier leaving and I'm curious if I should look at this is the time to accept the loss and reduce my gold exposure.
Of course, I'd like to replace it with something that has huge torque and can win me my money back with no risk... any thoughts? (Just kidding here, of course but I am happy to take any idea!)
