Q: hi 5i,

i have been buying UUU at 2.77. they are being bought out at 2.86. do you think there is any significant risk of the buyout not occurring? also, what happens on settlement day, do they mail a cheque to shareholders. also, will it be the full 2.86 per share, or do they skim off the top for a administration fee or something like that??
thx chris

Q: I have been following AGF Management for a while. It received some bad news a few weeks back, i.e. redemptions from the US were up(not sure what that means) and the CRA was intending to go after AGF for some reason. The stock gas risen since then which surprised me. Watching BNN 2 weeks ago, AGF was mentioned and the visitor said something about a family, but I missed the gist of it because of an interruption. I wonder if you could comment on all of this. Thanks in advance.

Q: Hi Peter & 5i: Can you please update your thoughts on Colossus Minerals (CSI)? I used to own it at much higher levels and it looks really beaten down now. In particular, the last couple of days have seen even further lows on above average volume following their recent director elections. Is there more than just the weak sector going on here? Also, is there usually a close correlation between the prices of gold and platinum/palladium? Thanks!

Q: Hello 5i team, I hold a small position in DGI in a registered account. I am down 69%, which has something to do with the position being small. Should I hold or sell. If I sell should I buy the debentures DGI.DB.A now trading around $66 or just move on? Thanks again for the great service. Frank

Q: Ernie's May 22 question on TDB621 Mortgage Fund had me investigate the numbers: 12 month return with risk 1.36/current yield 2.1/MER 1.82. A well kept secret at TD is their ISA-Investment Savings Account- TDB8150 currently paying 1.25% with no risk. There is no info online about it, you have to call and ask, but you can buy and sell it online min $1000, the only catch is it takes 1 to 2 days notice to buy and sell but it is guaranteed. I use it in cash and registered accounts. The US$ TDB 8152 pays 0.2%.

Q: Hi Peter

Argonaut Gold (AR) has had a recent move. Would you sell into the strength or wait for further recovery. I'm underwater somewhat but could wait if the longer term prospects look compelling.

Thanks

Q: Peter,

ANV was a gold stock you liked in the past. When compared to DGC they have lower costs per ounce of gold. They also issued shares at 10.75 which is much higher than what DGC is getting for their shares. Which would you prefer from both and why? Thanks
