Q: you said not to buy bow but what about sell should it be sold or do we hang on
Q: WIN re: paul's inquiry
with respect to all concerned; if you want a full service broker, the phone book is full of them
I am of the understanding that this (5I) is a full service RESEARCH service, where peter and team provide research on a myriad of companies on a "best efforts" basis
that you chose to buy wilan today is unfortunate and seen in isolation is disappointing, yet in the context of holding 16 - 22 individual companies in a well balanced portfolio should hardly be catastrophic
a 35% loss on a 5% portfolio weighting is about 1.6% overall loss to the portfolio
there should be no surprise to anyone of today's action, especially someone who has risked their hard earned capital
along with this service, one must take on personal responsibility to do further due diligence

Q: Hi; Well Wi-Lan was really hit badly today as you know. The news in all aspects was scary. Yet this company has some fundamentals that if viewed independently of the news must have some value. How would you folks WIN purely from a fundamental view?
Q: I would appreciate your opinion on Emera (EMA) versus similar stocks such as Fortis. TIA

Q: I bought Wi-LAN this afternoon, about an hour before trading was stopped for the negative litigation news. HUGE MISTAKE.... talk about bad timing... and an instant loss of nearly $4,000. However, I purchased the stock on your fairly strong recommendations. After all, you gave it an A- rating. You answered a previous question on this stock with the response that "investors have loved to hate this company". Would it not have been more prudent to have stressed the considerable risks in your earlier opinion pieces? Were you aware that litigation was "in process"?
Q: I have a small speculative position in Trevali Mining .. TV on TSX. It has declined over the past year but up ticked recently on low volume. Is it likely to survive and prosper or potentially be a takeover target?
Q: Hi Peter

Q: Hello Peter,
I am a fan of Wi-lan but once again they have had Patent's rejected by the courts. Today they are down over 8%. You said on BNN that getting info out of this company is difficult. Was just wondering if you still like what's happening at WIN and are they a company you would hold the course and do you think their recent partnerships make them a growth company.

Q: Do you think XTC's run up is over? Do you see a pull-back coming?
Q: Hi Peter,
I have shares of Shoppers Drug Mart (SC) which are up by about 26% today because of the news regarding the merger with Loblaws. What should I do with my SC shares? Should I sell, or do nothing? Will SC continue to be listed on the TSX?
Thank you,
Gervais

Q: ZWB versus Bank of Nova Scotia for my Dad, my kids RESP or myself. The banking portion of a
healthy 90 year old's well balanced successful portfolio, wouldn't mind some cash flow and to maintain initial investment. Well balanced RESP, 1/2 is laddered bonds, will need the funds in 2-7 years, have 12.5% in ZWB, should it change to BNS? For myself, 15 years before I need cash, well balanced portfolio - ZWB vs BNS?

Q: Hi All, at what point within your followed stocks would you sell to take profits? Is there a price increase (%) that would trigger selling? Do you ever suggest a sell to subscribers at a particular point or is it strictly buy a name and hold indefinitely? As time goes on subscribers would be buying names at various different entry points and obviously have different sell points...is there a good rule to follow?
