Q: VGR Vector Group would this stock qualify as a long term buy and hold in terms of slow steady growth, good dividend and some diversity to reduce downside risk?
Q: Hi Peter and Team,
We made a nice profit on Magna and now we're thinking of purchasing Linamar[LNR]. Most of their products are sold in the U.S. The only thing is the stock price is very near it's 52 week high. What are your thoughts between Magna and Linamar. thanks
Niko is back to where it started with all the good news boost completely wiped out. My average cost is pretty high and unfortunately I had amassed a much bigger position against your advice of max 5% allocation in any company. Should I trim/liquidate my position or keep holding on and hope for good exploration results. What would be possible impact of a bad result of exploration considering they have so many other positives recently. Thanks
Q: hi peter, so automodular released their quarterly report aug.6 with a long detail on the state of their business, the dividend is safe for now, they have a 1.55 in cash, stock is selling for 1.81, would you buy it here or is this company dead at the end of 2014. dave
Q: Given the large warchest (cash) Wilan has on hand, and the extremely cheap SP. Do you think they should Buyback as many share as they can? Thoughts?

Q: Hi Peter:
I bought some HCG at around 53 while the hedge fund managers were shorting this stock
It has recovered nicely and today, it went up again nicely
Where do one find the volume of short positions on this stock?
I made a nice profit, I am tempted to exit or the momentum of HCG is real? pays a small dividend too! Thanks for recommending this stock!
Q: re Saad question
My wife entered the market for the first time in march 2009 with a full service broker.
A performance review lately showed a profit of 16%, not per year, for the entire period. The broker was VERY proud of the performance...
I have been looking for a broker for the better part of the past 15 years for my own portfolio, fired one and WAS fired by another one, gave up and manage everything myself. Peter entry in the retail investor world void of real/unbised information has been a breath of fresh air and provide a much needed support. But I think I still have to do my homework.
Here is a question about bonds. Let's say you buy bonds of a major Canadian, credit-worthy company that mature in 2015. Let's also say that interest rates keep backing up (thinking of US 10 year) way past everyone's expectations during that time.
Is it correct to assume that, while the value of the bond you are holding goes down in the market, you get all of your money back at the maturity date in 2015? Therefore, if you hold to maturity and the company is still around, the back up in interest rates does not hurt your capital invested?
Q: CSU is trading around $167 today. It is too late to buy? I keep missing opportunities to purchase on a pullback and now wonder if I should even try. Your opinion is greatly appreciated!
