Q: On your site it says that BTB's dividend growth is -100%, which I presume means that it has been cancelled. Is this correct? I can find no corroborating information.
Thank-you,

Q: I have a hard time understanding why there is such a divergence in the price of gold/silver and the prices of the miners. I assume the costs of miners is rising at a faster pace than the commodity?
I also find it curious how much crypto is outperforming the precious metals - the only explanation I can come to is that there are many more hedge funds manipulating the metals where there are less involved in crypto?

Q: I have over 8000 shares of VFV in my NR, up about 50%. I am looking to hold for 20 years and not touch them. Unbeknownst to me when I bought them, I now realize there is a tax disadvantage compared to HXS. How much performance drag will occur from the tax disadvantage, and would it be worth the capital gains tax to sell and switch?
I could sell and incur huge capital gains on these shares, but I am not sure if it would be worth paying the capital gains to sell them and buy HXS.
My alternate plan going forward was to buy HXS with my dividends, instead of VFV.

Q: With the prices of some oil stocks down significantly in the past 6 months, do you think that some of the larger companies (SU, CNQ, etc) would want to take over some of the smaller players at a nice discount? A bit speculative, but can you identify some of the smaller takeover candidates?

Q: Do you have any recommendations for investments in companies that may benefit from precision fermentation? As one example of its application, Tony Seba predicts precision fermentation will replace a significant portion of milk production by dairy cows.

BCE Inc. (BCE)

Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. Class A Limited Voting Shares (BAM)
Q: I purchased BCE awhile back for its very good dividend and some modest growth, thinking it was more “bond” like.
Now with the recent news I am not so sure this is the case. I am overweight in it and wondering what to do with it, whether to keep it and collect the dividend, or if it would be better to sell it or at least some of it.
I could use the loss to offset some of my gains I guess, but I am unsure what is the best move. I don’t need the money, so would probably reinvest the money in another stock.
I am asking for your advice on this investment.
Thanks so much for your past service, it has always been most helpful.

Q: I’m considering switching from aco.x to cpx to free up cash and maintain total annual dividend amount. Will you please provide opinion regarding the safety of the dividend and long-term capital appreciation. Is there a better company in any sector I should consider at this time to achieve the same objective. Thank you
Q: KXS shares are basically flat over that past four years. Yet the company continues to grow nicely quarter after quarter and the balance sheet is strong. So the fundamentals look really good. This would imply major valuation compression. Can you please comment on the valuation four years ago compared to today? How does the current valuation compare to their industry and software sector?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Hello,
Would you be a buyer ? If yes, at what entry price?

Q: I like the fact that the 5i team discloses your team members US holdings when answering a question. Looking at a large majority of the names performance they are very successful in the returns they produced. Have you tracked your performance at a portfolio level of your holdings in the US against the CDN Balanced and Growth portfolio? Seems like there might be some significant returns to be made in the US based on your holdings. I know 5i does not plan to run a US portfolio for its members but was wondering if you can create a section "Current 5i US Holdings" so we can have a consolidated list? Looking for more alpha to supplement the CDN portfolios as we are all here to grow our wealth so the more we win as community the better.
Q: Hi 5i - which of these companies would you prefer for a 10 year hold? I own ATZ and thinking of switching to PBH.
Thanks, Neil
Thanks, Neil
Q: Two questions:
(1) If you could only own one of CNQ or SU, which would you choose, and why?
(2) If both CNQ and SU could be owned, in equal amounts, are their profiles and metrics such that diversification would be enhanced?
Thanks as always for your insight.

Q: I like using the top ten holding of mutual funds as a guide to find other investment ideas. Can you share a list of the to performing mutual funds over the last 5 and 10 year periods in Canada and the US that focus on the small and mid cap space?
Q: The dividend announcement seems to be well received. Can you comment on the implications of this if one plans to hold for the next 10+ years? Are there companies that you can use to parallel the potential future returns? Is Apple, Visa or MasterCard good proxy? Meta is likely to be aggressive in dividend increases.
