Q: Good Afternoon Peter and Team,
Your recommendations are really spot on with Stantec shooting out the lights today. My question is about Stantec's poor cousin Genivar (GNV-T). If you were to cover this company then what back of the napkin rating would you give it ??? Also do you think that GNV will benefit from the "Stantec halo effect" ???
Great job as always and thank you. DL
Q: I would appreciate your opinion on Visa. As you know they announced their earnings yesterday and the stock is down significantly this morning. It is about a 3% position in my portfolio and my average purchase price is $125.00. Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks
Q: Hi Peter, I am wondering how you'd suggest investing $5500 in a new TFSA for my daughter who just turned 18. Have a online account set up. She won't need the money for 4+ years while she complete her post-secondary. Was thinking about HCG but am concerned if the housing market turns this may be too risky. Maybe VDY or CDZ?
Q: Hello Peter.
I am always looking for a home for my cash when not fully invested. Money markets provide a skinny but safe return.
I have noticed a couple of senior loan ETFs ie blk and fsl.
My understanding is in a world of increasing interest rates the holdings in these ETF will have their yields also increase (floating) thus the best of 2 worlds. Knowing there is no Santa Clause what am I missing
Q: This might be a dumb question but with Bellatrix's offer to buy out Angle shareholders for $3.85 a share, why is the stock currently trading in the low $3.70's and should I hold it longer to wait for the higher price?
Q: LIQ - John Yap, Parliamentary secretary for the BC. Liquor policy review, will issue recommendations on Nov 25 to change Province's liquor law. Significant one would be to allow retail outlets like grocery stores to begin selling beer and wine. If this happens, revenue from stores operated by LIQ will decline substantially. Do you foresee its effect on LIQ, and how worse could it be on its share price.
Q: Hello Peter and team I’m rebalancing my portfolio to 20 stocks. I have two energy stocks COS down - 7% and a half position in ERF down -24 %. I thinking of adding TOU and as for ERF would you recommend talking a full position in ERF or selling ERF? In the utilities I have BEP.UN, ENB and IPL. I’m in for the long term.
Ronald
Q: Any comments about JO.(coffee) I have been watching and waiting for a base to form. It would be nice offset to my caffeine habit if it ever turns up.Thank you
Q: I'd like to know what your top three recommendations (in order of preference) are in the Financial Sector at this point in time, to hold for a year or two, and why. Thanks!
