Q: Everyone, I would like to buy one Canadian ETF and one US ETF for a long term hold, risk medium. TPU and TTP look interesting but this is an area I have very little knowledge on. Clayton

Q: Hello 5I, I am considering selling some of my ZSP(S&P500) ETF holdings, and rake some the profits and buy more Canadian index funds like the BMO ETF ZCN. Many financial experts feel that the SP 500 market is currently unsustainable and over priced.

Your thoughts in this matter would be appreciated.

Q: Going to do a little re-balancing and the result will be the addition of one new { possibly two depending on your answer } stocks to the portfolio ...... Between ISRG, CPH, GLXY, and MDA please rank from first choice to last giving each a numerical score between one and ten with ten being best . Q: NVDA has 6 of 7 criteria for the definition of a bubble. Is there excessive exuberance in the AI space? More importantly are we in a bubble cause by excess hype and fear of missing out? Is NVDA in a similar situation as CSCO was a number of years ago with all mania surrounding it? Lastly, does NVDA really have an super moat that makes them near invincible, because would that not be the high of hubris…even the formidable Achilles had an exploitable weak spot and I wonder if there is a real danger NVDA & the AI space writ large has one too.

Your answer to Jacques' question that included SMCI is rather outdated now, right?! The question probably made its way to yur in box today!
No one expected such a deep drop this morning!

BUT at least one of the BIG heads has paid the price. Not sure if there is some more heads will roll besides the chief accountant.

Is the worst behind SMCI? At 35% growth as your answer indicates, worth nibbling here? Or does your "cockroach theory" still hold?!

Q: Hello 5i Team

I currently own European Residential REIT (ERE-UN), however I wish to sell it before year end with the uncertainty of what will happen after the special distribution and reduction in dividend (i.e. to many moving parts).

I want to replace it with either of the TSX listed US dollar REITS

BSR REIT - HOM-UN
Dream Residential - DRR-UN -UN,
Flagship Communities - MHC-UN

or add to my existing holdings of Inter Rent (IIP-UN)

1 - What would 5i suggest and if the US dollar REIT, please rank in order of preference?

2 - If I go with the TSX USD reits should I buy them in Canadian Dollar or US dollar (as they trade in both currencies on the TSX)? I am thinking I should go with Canadian Dollar as it will make the annual ACB calculations easier (my reits are held in a taxable account).

Q: Good morning. I have some sizeable gains in my U. S. unregistered account. Average for the portfolio is 32,5% in 2024 so far. Would you trim some names to sit on the sidelines until the dust from the election settles and hopefully rebuy at a lower price, considering taxes payable as well? Thanks David
