Q: Hi Peter,

can you recommend a good retirement planning software either PC or web based? I would be willing to pay for it if it is very good. Ideally it will be able to plan for a married couple. I am currently using a free planner provided by BMO Investorline which is quite good but, would like a second opinion to check the results. thanks

Q: Hello, Peter @ Co.
I am looking at World Point Terminals, a Limited Partnership in the USA. The infrastructure for light crude appears to be a decent sector within the energy investment space. Although your focus is Canada I was hoping you might have some insight into this company and US LP's in general.
Thanks,
Ed

Q: BEP.un What little I know about stocks is from reading Ben Graham type of stuff- so when I look at the balance sheet of Brookfield- it looks perilous. And then to look at WPK as you note it as no debt at all. BEP.un is an A and Wpk is a B. I don't get it?

Q: Hi Peter and team, my question is about Morningstar rating system. There is something I do not understand, when I look at their latest report (December 13th)on Iamgold, I see a 5-star rating for that stock. On the other hand, 5iResearch is negative on the same stock. Is there something wrong with Morningstar rating system? Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thanks, Gervais

Q: Peter, Merry Christmas to you and the rest of the staff. I am up 57% on Davis & Henderson and 50% on Genevar. I read your previous comments on these companies. Considering that they both have hit new highs, would you consider these as holds or even as buys. Thanks in advance. Gary

Q: Peter and Team,

With tapering beginning and possibly progressing, what are your thoughts on buying an ETF that is the reverse of the Thirty Year Bond in the US... something like HTD? It seems like interest rates are basically as low as they can go and will rise - its just a question of when.

Thoughts?

Q: Not a question, but a sincere compliment. Although only being a new member for a few months I have already taken advantage of renewing a 2 yr. membership at present costs. Am steadily adjusting my holdings to follow many of your suggestions to clients and your model portfolio. Am retired now and only wish I could have had 5i to follow in past years.
Again, many, many thanks and a Merry Christmas and the best New Year possible to you and your staff.

Q: Hi team:
great work and thanks for your advice
I have some REITs and are holding them for income for a yield of about 4-5%
From what I understand, switching some of those to FSV and TCN
both are involved in real estates especially in US could offer a better potential of
capital gains (though lower yield) than the current REITs in Canada, would that be
a correct assumption ? Merry Christams!

Wondering for an income side of a portfolio what you think of OCS.un? I like the 7% yield and the integrity and track record of Onex backing it.

Q: Hi Peter, I am finally picking up the courage to invest in the stocks in your model and summary portfolio in January 2014. What is the outlook for the next 3 years. I have more than $31500 to invest and am thinking of about 15 stocks at about 5% in each.
Thanks for all the great advice.

Q: Merry Christmas, Just sitting at home enjoying this Christmas morning and feeling grateful for my family, good health, and grateful for the financial advise 5i has provided over the last 2 years. 5i has changed my investing approach and made me a significantly better investor. I now have a systematic approach which I did not have in the past. Lastly when I get nervous about the markets I just reread your articles and this gives me the confidence to stay in the markets.

Have a happy and prosperous 2014.

Darcy
