Q: Hi 5i Team,

I'm wondering if you have any suggestions for using options to generate routine income. So far, I mainly write puts on companies that are temporarily out of favour but that I wouldn't mind holding for a while and also collect a dividend if I end up having to hold for a bit (e.g, ENB, TD, BN, CVS). I do this randomly (e.g., once or twice a year on a couple of companies) but would like to increase the frequency. I don't have a good sense for what expiry date I should choose (I typically go out six months or more) or the best strike price (I usually pick around the current price). Do you have any good ideas for the current market that you could suggest and could you recommend a resource to do more research. I'm currently thinking of writing puts on TD, CVS, and BTI and wondering if I should scatter their expiry dates.

Thanks as always,
Lisa

Q: Dividends of these companies are interesting for a retiree. I have money to put in two of them. Favoring Enbridge. In between the two other two, PPL with is involvement with the LNG in Kitimat I would be inclined. TRP I'm certain would be fine except for their problem with Line 5. What's your take on this.

Q: Hi Team,

Can you please provide your thoughts on NTLA? I've held it for a few years through the ups and downs, and am thinking of now replacing it with something with more potential upside. I was thinking about TOI, but would like to hear if you have any other suggestions as well. My timeframe is 2-3 years.

Thanks

Q: hello 5i:
I am interested in the above companies, but feel both are overvalued at present. Technically, HPS appears to have a "blowoff" topping pattern while ATS is consolodating. Fundamentally, both look a little stretched as far as PE, P/CF go. The subject of growth, of course, will define future gains. From past answers, you like ATS "better" than HPS.
First, can you confirm the above deductions and do a head to head comparison of the two. Second, where do you see future growth for both, and why. HPS actually looks to have the upper hand due to the "relectrification" theme as their products might attract a larger global audience. Third, can you provide what you feel are good entry points. Thanks for this comparison as there are only funds to buy one.

Q: For a long term investor, say 10 + yrs, are the issues you identified in your dropping coverage notice for Fiera, fatal? In the long term the ups and downs of any company are to be expected, however, there are some risk conditions from which a company may not be able to survive. Do you see Fiera as a going concern 10 yrs from now albeit at a lower price and lower dividend. Or perhaps a lower price and zero dividend?

Q: Hi, I understand that lnth was participating in a conference this past weekend. Are you aware of whether the drop yesterday has anything to do with discussions/revalations at the conference?

The stock seems to move in 6% increments up or down and I find it hard to stomach, not knowing much about how competitors and the extent to which lnth may or may not enjoy a moat. Thanks,

Jason
