Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Hi, I originally had 1500 shares of Badger. Sold 500 and paid for my investment. With the 1000, I now have 3000 with the split. It has 'fortunately' given me a heavy weighting with this company. You seem to keep recommending it and I continue to like it even though it does tend to swing my investments when it has good and bad days. My dilemma....at what point does a 'balanced' portfolio outway selling a good stock!

Cheers,
Graham

Q: In response to a query earlier today on AT&T you indicated the stock is good long term, but 'not a screaming buy'. Can you please suggest what is (a screaming buy) right now, in terms of a stock offering reasonable growth and decent income with growing dividends? Thanks a lot!

Q: hello 5i:
some time ago (2013) you suggested that companies such as PD and TCW were on equal footings with NOV. My personal research shows that NOV is very undervalued now(50%ish). Can you comment on NOV and can you suggest Canadian companies that could provide at least as much value, at present valuations.
thanks

Q: Hi. I'm a new comer to your service. I love it so far. I have a question regarding your summary list. I am wondering if this is a list of stocks that are okay to buy or, is it the list of the stock universe that you cover and not all of them necessarily represent the best ideas to buy at this time?

Q: What is your view of Just Energy? Jim Pattison and Ron Joyce have been accumulating shares. Although the Dividend is high it seems to have a low P/E, reasonable EBITDA, although the EBIT margin is low, and the current ratio seems in the ball park for comparable stocks. What would they potentially coming down the pike that would enhance the value?

Q: Greetings to Peter and his team. You guys are great. I am thinking about selling my Magna International shares that I I acquired very recently and buy TRW instead. My reason is that I just saw analyst's 12 month target estimates for TRW are much better for TRW than Magna. I have tried to ask questions about TRW on BNN several times but none of the portfolio managers seem to follow it.

Q: Could you please comment on Horizons actively managed global dividend ETF? - HAZ
It's assets are mainly in the United States (67%) and United Kingdom (13%), with small holdings in Canada (6%), Korea (3%), Australia (3%) and the rest of the world. It's current dividend is 2.37% paid monthly. Are there other international ETF's you would recommend with more even weightings between developed regions, including North America, and no emerging market exposure? Thanks!
