Q: I hold WEQ and I know the organic growth prospects look very good. It's market cap is small compared to HNL and BDI.

I am retired and love the WEQ dividend plus the prospect for some growth.

Is it likely that WEQ will be taken out by one of the big boys?

Thanks,
Steve

Q: Am I wrong or have the number of questions asked recently been growing substantially? If so would you ascribe this increase to a greater number of small investors getting into the market or simply to more investors using your service?

Q: KBL
I hold this stock in my RRSP and have done reasonably well with it, my objective for the stock is LONG TERM income and growth. Stock is down >5% this year and is my biggest loser so far this year. Should I be reconsidering my position with this stock?
Thanks

Q: My parents are getting close to drawing funds from their RRSPs and I want to start shifting their portfolios into safer equities. Can you recommend any lower volatility ETFs? Is ZLB fine or too illiquid? Thanks, Rob

Q: Dear Peter,

Don Vialoux has spoken a few times, most recently on BNN, about the behaviour of the market in mid-term election years. He suggests an interesting pattern for these years: that the market takes a dive in January and then rallies between February and April. From April until October, the market takes another dive, and then begins a huge rally from October to the end of the year. His data goes back approximately 60 years. I realize that 5I believes in long term value investing, and not technical analysis so much, but I was wanting your opinion nonetheless on Mr. Vialoux's thesis.

With all your experience in the market, have you noted such similar co-relations, and if so, how would you play the position with the higher risk stocks in your portfolio? (My view would be that it would be a good time to add to higher risk companies which are essentially solid otherwise, but are experiencing volatility, and to hold down the tent on the conservative parts of the portfolio.)

Your opinion is much appreciated. Thank you.

Q: I was wondering if you are familiar with MOB.UN? It had quite a spike on the increase in the dividend after acquiring some hospitals in Brazil, but has settled back to a 10% yield. Do you think it is ok, and any comments on the parent company? Thanks for the great info here.

Q: re-Bombardier-18 billion in sales-3.4 billion in cash. 69 billion backlog. Yet it seems to be the most poorly run company in the country. Any other company making as many mistakes as them would fire the management and replace the CEO. What is it going to take to shake up this company. I say hire Alan Mullaly from Ford. Your comments. thanks
