Q: I bought Suncor (SU) a few years ago and it went down about 40%, but this year it is doing much better. I'm only down about 13% and it is continuing to improve. Do you think I should continue to hold this long term or should I be swapping it for another stook in the same sector like tourmaline?

Q: I'd appreciate your thoughts on Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP (BIP.UN. I've held it for a few years in a TFSA and have done quite well, but it seems to have stalled somewhat.

Thanks

Q: Hi Peter,
I noticed that the Dow is on the rise after a head and shoulders pattern. I also saw a superimposed image of the DOW in 1929 that shows a similar pattern. If the market does start to fall off abruptly after this recent rise, where should money go? I am recently retired and have BNS and a GIC with about 50% in cash. I was planning to invest, but a little hesitant now. I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you. Gail

Q: You gave a great answer on why winpak declared a one dollar special rather than raising the dividend, my question is why you would want to have a company like that in your model portfolio, it seems like they are just self serving. Dave

Q: AHF I have owned this company for a while, bought at around $1.40 and watched it drop to almost $1.00.
Should I continue to hold it and expect that it will regain it's former price or should I sell, absorb the loss and move on.

Q: I have held a position in Winpak (WPK) for over a year and have done very well with it. I intend to continue holding, but am a bit perplexed by their recent announcement of a special $1 per share dividend. The announcement came without any explanation. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth and think it’s great when companies give back to shareholders. My understanding however is that special dividends typically occur after an asset sale, or in response to shareholder pressure when a company is flush with cash. Winpak’s current regular dividend of only 12 cents amounts to less than 0.5% yield. The $1 special dividend could have been used to finance doubling the current regular dividend for the next 8 years! Can you explain what management is doing here with the special dividend?
Thanks

Q: Can you help to evaluate the quarterly numbers for EFH.
Revenue seems higher but net income quite a bit lower.
Just trying to understand the meaning of the underwriting loss for the past quarter and if this should be considered as significant negative result.

Q: Can you comment on Enerplus's (ERF)latest earnings. Aside from Mart (MMT) it is my only other oil holding. I have held positions in both for a long time and while I have a nice gain in ERF I am underwater in MMT while I have waited patiently for their new pipeline to be constructed.( I am reluctant to dump MMT because of this) Should I stay the course with both or would you recommend selling for something else?
