Q: Hi guys ... I'm in the process of culling the last bit of crap from my portfolio (FLY and AET.UN) with the idea of replacing them with something much better. I'm looking for a couple of solid stocks that offer a realistic chance at 15-20% growth in the next year or so while also providing a dividend of at least 3%. I got lucky with PKI on a big dip a few weeks ago ... now I'm hoping to find a couple more. Any help would be appreciated. One caveat ... I'm already overweight in energy so I'd like to avoid that sector.
Thanks for the great service.

Q: I have been looking at Veresen VSN for a while now. Will the recent Supreme Court ruling on aboriginal title affect the LNG projects planned for BC. If so, will the VSN project in Oregon benefit?

Q: I have about 10% of my portfolio in reits and another 10% in energy. Seeing the possibility of an imminent rise in interest rates, I'm considering selling my car.un, (about 3%,) and buying an integrated oil co. such as HSE or another name you might suggest with the proceeds. I already own SGY and CPG. I prefer some growth along with a decent dividend.
Thank you for this service.

Q: Asian TV (SAT-V) is +24% today on 6X normal volume and biggest volume in 18 months. Someone must know something but there's no news I can find; anything you show? In spite of the impressive gain I see it's just back to 200 day m/a and touched a 52 week low last week. Do you still have the same opinion on this as your last comment? Thanks, J.
Q: I have reduced my holding in EH. Should I reduce more?

Q: I have two general questions for you about growth stocks, with the emphasis on emerging growth stocks:
1. What metrics or other methodology do you use to identify growth stocks.
2. How do you determine when a high-flying growth stock has become too expensive to buy (or should be sold).
Thank you.

Q: Re 'P.S.' from Paul (Aug 21st)
"P.S. - as a note to others, I have had a few situations where I had set up DRIPs and subsequently sold the stock. However, I traded them ex-dividend and as a result, the DRIP went through and I own 1 or 2 shares of the company. I would have to pay the full commission to sell the shares, so as a result I sit with a few single shares in my account. Kind of annoying."
I use TD Direct Investing and if you phone them in the above situation of being stuck with a couple of shares after a sale
they will place a sell order for you and WAIVE the commission.
I'm sure other self directed discount brokerages probably do the same. FYI
