Q: Re: RBI (former CLQ-T)
RBI continue to drop sharply after share consolidation. I'm very bullish on Lithium demand. Do you think this is a buying opportunity?

Thanks for your great service!

Q: I recently inherited some of my mother's portfolio, and included are some equities I do not even recognise, let alone know anything about. Her portfolio was professionally managed, so I don't want to be too quick to get rid of things. I would like to get an opinion on the quality and outlook of:
FAP - Aberdeen Asia-Pacific
UTC.C - Utility Corp
FCS.UN - Faircourt Split Trust
RIT.UN - First Asset Canadian REIT

Q: I am wondering about the role of beta in the portfolio stocks. According to my broker's site the beta's for these stocks are: AYA .40, ESL .82, BNS .96. When I overlay the one year charts with the TSX, as expected BNS tracks it closely. ESL and AYA show much better performance with AYA showing a little more volatility. Why would ESL be more similar to BNS?

Q: Great job. My question is to do with share buy backs. What happens to the shares within the company when they do this? Can they not resell them at a future date? Would it not be better to increase the dividend.

Q: Question on Model Portfolio: Total Quarterly Dividend per share by dollar amount?? I could of course add up all the numbers, but wondering if this has already been done and I can find it somewhere on the site? This would be useful for those looking for regular income. Thank you.

Q: Sierra Wireless (SW-T)had a stellar year in 2013 but the forecast for 2014 in the Q4 report does not seem as rosy. The report noted that "We expect gross margin to decrease slightly from Q4, 2013, due to a shift in product mix and we expect operating expenses to increase as a result of higher new product certification costs, investment in sales and marketing capabilities, and a full quarter of expenses related to the AnyDATA acquired business". Does this sound like a temporary hiccup and, if so, is this a buying opportunity? As always, I look forward to your reply.

Q: Could you rank the following mortgage companies for me: Firm Capital (FC), First Financial (FN), Timber Creek (TMC) and MCAN (MKP). They have been great for income and are 10.5% of my portfolio. I have held most of these for a lot of years. Should I reduce my holdings?

Q: A recent guest on Market Call was touting the benefits of Eikon, which he said did amazing stuff and was half the cost of the Bloomberg Terminal, like the one you use. He implied that TRI, Thomson Reuters, has finally worked out the bugs with this business service and that the stock was a buy. Would you agree and are you familiar with Eikon? TRI apparently sold 100,000 of the desktop units (and subscriptions?) in the last quarter, which sounds like a lot to me, but maybe it isn't in comparison to the Bloomberg terminals already in place. Thanks, J.
