Q: Warren Buffett bought SU in mid 2013 resulting in hugh increase for this sort of dormant stock in terms of price,& creating lots of increase fr.USA in our energy sector,which is the darling sector now. He now bought Altalink fr. SNC for $3.2b. Please advise how we are going to benefit fr. his move today,& provide some name of stocks. Thanks a lot

Q: I would like to hedge $100k CDN in case the Loonie falls further against other currencies particularly the $U.S. I was going to simply buy $U.S. but thought there might be a more effective means. Can you recommend something, maybe a composite that is easy to buy?

I noticed True North Apartment REIT appears to have bottomed out and is now moving in a
positive direction. I have not been able to find any news as to why this may be happening. Is this a good time to buy and is the dividend safer now (previously a 94% payout ratio)? Thanks.

I want to invest $100,000 in 5 Canadian dividend paying stocks. I want each company to have a solid history of paying dividends. I would like the portfolio to be well diversified. Would you please recommend 5 stocks to accomplish this. Or if you think there is a better way to do the same thing, I would like your opinion.

Q: re: NOC - Northrop Grumman

I know we aren't necessarily covering US equities at length quite yet. "Greenblats Magic Formula" (John Greenblatt) which according to "Seeking Alpha" has had very good success in finding equities with a high ratio of profits to value has consistently identified names which have vastly outperformed the broad market.

NOC which pays an excellent dividend is one of their top names.

Do you have an opinion on NOC?
