Q: I am looking for advice on what type of accounts I should be holding my ETFs in. Presently the four ETFs I have (XBB, XSP, and XIC) are held in my brokerage non-registered account. I am wondering which ones, if any, should be moved to an RRSP or TFSA in order to keep taxes at an optimal level. Do you have any advice on which accounts these should be held in?

Q: Hi Peter,
You mentioned some time ago that if you could one Canadian growth stock it would be Avigilon. The recent price action on the stock has been pretty frustrating for every investor. Have your views changed in any way. What should one do in a situation when the purchase price is around $30 and now it is going lower every minute as we speak. Would you recommend selling AVO and moving into something like WCP or SGY.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
In September 2013, you gave a quick look thru Arcam AB, AMAVF. Based on their latest Quarter and their new acquisition and growth, could you add some more colour on Arcam AB if possible. And is it a decent buy at current levels since coming off their 52 week high.

Q: Hi,
The energy sector is getting slammed the last couple of days. Good time to dip my toe into Tourmaline since its come off $5 or so or still too early?
I know the summer can be rocky during a midterm election year, if history holds.
Thanks,
Jason

Q: ENT Not sure what to do with this one. Sell or hold. Thank You Andy
Q: Good Morning... I am perplexed and taking an absolute beating on my shares. I am sure I am not alone. Most people were expecting a bounce yesterday and nothing. Today we are dropping like a brick again. My question is at what point does a shareholder give up and protect at least 60% of their investment?
Q: Hi Peter and team. LOY getting beaten up again, I know you have commented on this stock before but given its current depressed price at about .42, is it a speculative buy?
Q: ZMS Zecotek Photonics Inc. Hi I am looking to add some growth stocks to my TFSA as they come on sale. Do you cover ZMS, what is your rating and do you think this is a good entry point? Will it come down more this summer or is it not seasonal?
Q: re: general question on Energy
First off, great job yesterday on MC...
Energy is down across the board and the big story for allot of us is AVO cracks the $20 mark - the wrong way.
First on AVO, this is why we diversify. Is there any reason to think in a year from now this week for AVO won't be a distant memory? Results looked fine from what I can tell.
And can you please comment on Energy in general and any catalyst that may have seen SGY, BTE, XOP, WCP etc... all take a significant hit today?
Thanks for all you do
Gord

Q: Hello Team. Could you please provide you assessment of High Liner Food's results. They reported yesterday. Thank you.
Q: I am thinking of switching from MRT.UN to MRG.UN to convert from an office/retail focus to a residential one with the view that future interest rate rises might be better absorbed by the residential sector. I would appreciate your view of this exchange.
Q: Hi Peter and 5iResearch Team,
Can you please provide an update re: West Fraser Timber, WFT - trading today at $53.08 and I am up 9%. You discussed a positive mid-term outlook the last time I asked about this stock. Can you please comment on the seasonality of this stock and if you think I should continue to hold it LT.
Thank you.
Linda

Q: Hi Peter:
there were some M & A frenzy in the health stocks in the US
are there any EFTs that one can buy to participate in this trend ?
My 2nd question is that when M & A activities are increasing, it pushes the P/E ratio of the sector very high, would one see it as the beginning of the end of the bull market?
would one also anticipate some M & A in the Canadian energy sector?
I look forward to your comments, it would be educational to alot of investors like me, I learned alot from being a member for over a year,
Many thanks!

Q: Hi Peter & 5i Team,
I have noticed that for several general questions and advice as well as for several stock picks in one Question, your Answer appears without any Symbol name (for obvious reasons). However, would you please consider marking such Q&A with a general symbol name for eg. MISC (for miscellaneous) or AAAA or ABCD etc. This way your subscribers could easily filter/search these gems of information in the past using this "symbol" in the "Search by Symbol" area.
Thanks for your great service!
Francis

Q: hello 5i:
A question was previously asked by curiously enough, someone named Paul, that went:
What sector weightings would you recommend for a conservative middle age investor, with a balanced focus on capital gains and dividends. Your advice included a 15% allocation to Consumer Staples and 5% to Consumer Discretionary. Could you give me your top 3 picks for each sector? I apologize if this question has already been asked, but couldn't find an answer by searching.
thanks

Q: Hi, I'm looking at adding some higher-yielding municipal bonds to my portfolio and the
Short High-Yield Municipal Index ETF (SHYD) caught my eye. I like the relatively shorter duration but please let me know your thoughts.

Q: That is a great essay on, "WHAT TO DO WITH A TEN BAGGER".
You mentioned to ignore the old price.
That got me thinking on dividend yield on the historical acquisition cost of a stock. I've liked it for decades. But I have been reading on line that one should not consider that. Only look at the current yield. If it [current yield] goes down enough, that might be an indication to consider selling; the stock might be over valued. Likewise, if the yield goes up too much, that too might be a reason for a sale as the stock price has fallen too far.
What do you thing about 'it's the current yield, not the historical one, that counts'.
Thanks.

Q: Peter and crew:
I really like the look of your model "income" portfolio, and am looking to largely mirrror it in a non registered account with a 10 year + time horizon. My concern is with the tax implications of XHY, CVD, CPD and ZRE in a non registered fund (higher tax than dividends). Would you be able to suggest three of four solid dividend companies (not included in your other portfolio) that may be used to replace these. I understand this would make the portfolio more aggressive, but am comfortasble with that due to bond exposure in registered funds.
Thanks as always for a great service.
Phil
