Q: Hi
Please give your comments on TLF.un.
What do you think of it as an investment for income and growth in a taxable account. Are you still unhappy with the fees?
Are the fees subtracted before the yield is shown? (6.4percent in globe and mail today) Thanks!

Q: Good Afternoon Peter and Team,
Just read a blog on Mawer Investment Management's site which discusses "10 Ways That Investors Can Avoid Being Duped". Link is below:
http://www.mawer.com/knowledge-centre/mawer-blog/fraudster-alert-10-ways-investors-can-avoid-being-duped/
I suppose one of the best ways to help avoid being duped is to keep your 5i Membership up to date and pay very close attention to what Peter and/or Ryan have to say about a particular company before you purchase.
Just thought I would share this with other members. Thanks, DL

Q: Good day 5i Team,

Within context of an RESP where the value does not yet facilitate self direction, could you advise of a decent etf that is most closely aligned with the recommended holdings of the model portfolio. We are looking at a 15 yr horizon, and would like moderate risk within the tax sheltered account.

Thanks,

Eric

Q: Can you recommend some etf 's concentrated in large US Banks . Also given that the CDN dollar is strong at this time what are your thoughts about hedging . I was thinking to buy into a low cost ETF in US dollars taking advantage of the strong CDN dollar . Thanks. RICK

Q: Hello 5i team,
In early May, I sold all my VRX shares to buy a ½ position in each of CXR and GUD with the view to maintain the ½ position in GUD but to add another ½ in CXR.
CXR has flown up by 26% since then and that is making me hesitate to buy the other ½; my other holdings in the health care sector are a full position in 2 ETFs namely XHC and ZUH; I still have some spare cash so what would you suggest?
Thanks
Tony

Q: ACC Amica Mature Lifestyles The last time a Q was asked about ACC it had just bounced off a 4 year low. You liked it for income. Here it is hitting a new low. At some point there has to be a capital gain opportunity along side a juicy yield. Are we there yet?

TIA

Q: Scorpio Mining (SPM.TO). After several years of basically avoiding the base metals industry, I have gradually been reorienting my portfolios with the addition of LUN,HBM,FM and TEK.B. So far so good and I have now decided to add a little more torque and started buying SPM this morning which besides zinc, lead and copper gives me some additional silver exposure. I have read your previous comments on SPM and wonder if, at this time, you have anything to add on this speculative investment? At this point it represents well less than 1 percent of my total investments.

Q: Can you please provide insight into how trades get filled based on the bids. As an example, yesterday I had a sell order in on a stock at .92. The stock hit a high of .92 but my order didn't get filled. Obviously another sell order at .92 was filled but not mine. What is the basis for determining who gets filled? Thanks for valuable advice.

Q: I purchased some shares of Martin Rea (MRE) some time ago then purchased about 80% more when there began issues with the Board. My shares are now up by about 60% reflecting, I believe, the resolution of the fight within the Board. When I compare MRE to Magna, I see that MRE is essentially flat over the past year whereas MGA is up about 50%. Since the 50% for Magna is reflected to some degree in its higher PE ratio than MartinRea’s, is it reasonable to expect that MRE still has some opportunities to increase in value at a faster pace than Magna? I have no plans to sell my MRE because of the potential catchup of PE ratio unless you feel that I should be exchanging the MRE for Magna recognizing the quality of Magna versus MRE. My percentage of MRE is only about 2-3% of my entire portfolio. At this time in the auto business cycle would you recommend me increasing the percentage to the 5% range or stay cautious. If you recommend I should buy more again which of the two (or others?) would you recommend? As always, I highly respect your opinion and recommendations even if I don’t always follow them.

Q: I have owned Enghouse (ESL) for several months and while it has not shown any price growth I know that you are quite high on the stock. However, you seem to equally like Evertz (ET) for many of the same reasons you like ESL but given that ET pays a healthy dividend , I was wondering if I should switching from ESL to ET.

Looking forward to your insight.
