Q: Hi team:
I bought some CPD (ETF for preferred shares) in my investment account about a year ago, it went down abit, but in the last few months it has rebounded and I am now no longer in the red
It was for income, but with the impending rising rates, would it be at risk of dropping in value ?
I realized that this could be a window of opportunity to get out and get into something like CDZ to get a nice dividend with some growth potential (I can tolerate the risks), thanks team!

Q: Not a question, just a rhetorical comment. Publish at your discretion. There have been a couple of questions on why the drop in energy stock prices over the past 2 trading days. The seasonality on energy is February 25 to May 9. Coincidence?

Q: My question is with respect to growth stocks which we know are rapidly losing favour in a shift to value stocks. In this environment and knowing declines could continue for some time, why would an investor not sell growth stocks and move to value stocks? It doesn't seem to me prudent to keep riding the wave down. But I know market timing is a mug's game.
Also, given its size, is Constellation Software (CSU) a growth or value stock or is it a bit of a hybrid?
Thank you, Peter

Q: Hi Peter,

I have $5000 burning a hole in my pocket, which I would like to turn into a "nice graduating gift" for my grandson. My timeframe is 4 years. What's your absolute best pick for growth at this time? I know this sounds a bit like going to the Oracle at Delphi, but it seems to work. You've provided so many excellent suggestions from which I've garnered some very nice returns ... and now I can't pick just one! Success, ironically, may be the bane of your chosen profession. Thanks so much for this wonderful service.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
I would like your opinion on Agrium (AGU.TO). Earnings looked fairly weak and it has since been slapped with analyst downgrades. I also just heard a guest on BNN indicating there may a large surplus of potash worldwide. I'd like to know if you are still positive on the stock or I should exit. Thank you!

Q: I am looking for advice on what type of accounts I should be holding my ETFs in. Presently the four ETFs I have (XBB, XSP, and XIC) are held in my brokerage non-registered account. I am wondering which ones, if any, should be moved to an RRSP or TFSA in order to keep taxes at an optimal level. Do you have any advice on which accounts these should be held in?

Q: Hi Peter,

You mentioned some time ago that if you could one Canadian growth stock it would be Avigilon. The recent price action on the stock has been pretty frustrating for every investor. Have your views changed in any way. What should one do in a situation when the purchase price is around $30 and now it is going lower every minute as we speak. Would you recommend selling AVO and moving into something like WCP or SGY.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,

In September 2013, you gave a quick look thru Arcam AB, AMAVF. Based on their latest Quarter and their new acquisition and growth, could you add some more colour on Arcam AB if possible. And is it a decent buy at current levels since coming off their 52 week high.

Q: Hi Peter and team. LOY getting beaten up again, I know you have commented on this stock before but given its current depressed price at about .42, is it a speculative buy?

Q: re: general question on Energy

First off, great job yesterday on MC...

Energy is down across the board and the big story for allot of us is AVO cracks the $20 mark - the wrong way.

First on AVO, this is why we diversify. Is there any reason to think in a year from now this week for AVO won't be a distant memory? Results looked fine from what I can tell.

And can you please comment on Energy in general and any catalyst that may have seen SGY, BTE, XOP, WCP etc... all take a significant hit today?

Thanks for all you do

Gord

Q: I am thinking of switching from MRT.UN to MRG.UN to convert from an office/retail focus to a residential one with the view that future interest rate rises might be better absorbed by the residential sector. I would appreciate your view of this exchange.

Can you please provide an update re: West Fraser Timber, WFT - trading today at $53.08 and I am up 9%. You discussed a positive mid-term outlook the last time I asked about this stock. Can you please comment on the seasonality of this stock and if you think I should continue to hold it LT.

Q: Hi Peter:
there were some M & A frenzy in the health stocks in the US
are there any EFTs that one can buy to participate in this trend ?
My 2nd question is that when M & A activities are increasing, it pushes the P/E ratio of the sector very high, would one see it as the beginning of the end of the bull market?
would one also anticipate some M & A in the Canadian energy sector?
I look forward to your comments, it would be educational to alot of investors like me, I learned alot from being a member for over a year,
Many thanks!
