Q: Have taken a position in BAD this morning on weakness with hopes of a bounce. How does the street feel about this stock presently. At this price is it being quietly accumulated or is it a tax loss seller for 2014?

Q: Would appreciate any current thoughts on Andrew Peller (ADW.A). I'm thinking of adding to my position..... Many thanks for your great service.

Q: re: AVO... the ongoing Saga
It has become the new/latest "Amaya type" 5i blogging saga. Panic abounds and the length of the discussion grows daily.
I have read all answers and like everyone else I am buried on this one, but for me to cut and run and take a loss based on panic would be retarded. The numbers continued to appear reasonable and future opportunities appear to be available especially if some of their cash can be spent on a quality acquisition.
My Concern??? How easy is Alexander Fernandes to work for? It may be my ignorance of the true situation, but it appears to me the turn over at this company is very high. Which begs the question if all of Mr. Hernandes' time is being spent replacing people, then who is minding the store regarding day to day business? And if in fact he is difficult to work for (which in some respects isn't a bad thing) what can we expect from the people he hires moving forward?
Personnel turnover is expensive. Is there any validity to my concern?
Thanks You for all you

Q: Hi Team. I own both ppy painted pony and Alta gas. they have announced a strategic alliance on gas exploration and processing. Is this long term significant and is it a win win for both in your opinion?
Q: How do the banks (especially TD and BNS) perform compared to the TSE? Is it close both in short term (say 6mo) and longer term (5 yr, 10yr). I'm wondering if they would be good for a "lazy man" portofolio if one does not have enough money to set up a balanced portfolio and doesn't want to do ETFs.
Q: Hi Peter: Is this the time to pick up additional shares of AVO or do you think I would be trying to catch a "falling knife"? As well I also have a small position in DHX, and SYZ. What would you suggest?

Q: Hi: You recently answered a question that involved TBE (twin butte) and said that it was still a "sell" in your opinion. I'm wondering if you could elaborate on the metrics that make it a sell given its recent q2 report.
Q: Question on Petrodorado Energy (PDQ-V) - how do view recent dril/test results and potential share consolidation? Think we may finally see some upside movement here?
Q: Hi Peter &Co
I hold KMR in a TFSA. Some of the news on Consolidation of Kinder Morgan express concern the the US IRS may be taxing Capital gains on these shares retroactively.
Do you have any insights into IRS acting to tax Inversions such as this. Perhaps you Bloomberg terminal would have some timely advice on this. I could sell the shares before the inversion closes, but hate to jump at shadows.
I realize you are not US tax experts but you might have run into useful 3rd party advice that would be helpful.
Regards
Ernie

Q: Hi, I have parted ways with a wealth manager and recently transferred in to my self-directed account all of what they held for me. My portfolio now has way too many companies to follow (~60) and I would like to cull the herd starting with Energy. I now hold ARX, BNE, BNP, BTE, CPG, RE, TBE and ZAR. I like RE and would like to sell BNP and ZAR if only because they are in a loss position and I could use the offset. Of the group do you see any real keepers and any real clunkers I should sell?
Q: Hi 5I Team
I'm fairly certain you'll need a microscope to find this one, but I thought I'd try anyway. TVI Pacific (TVI) This has been sitting in my portfolio for "at least" 15 years and has done exactly nothing. I'm still surprised that it even trades. Would appreciate your comments as to whether it's even worth the paper it's printed on. Thanks so much!

Q: HWD-T
Hardwood Distributors has been drifting down for awhile. Is it worth continuing to hold or is it time to bail?
Thank you.

Q: Hello Peter & Co.
A question regarding portfolio rebalancing. The average weight of my holdings is 2.3%; assuming that all the holdings are "good", one should take profits from holdings with the higher weight and buy ones that have not grown as much. To give myself some leeway, I should be taking profits from holdings that are of higher than 3% weight, namely CSU 4.5%, LNR 3.5%, KEY 3.5%, IPL 3.4%, PPL 3.3%, IFP 3.2%, CGX 3.1%. But I have already trimmed those holdings a few times in the past only to see them make new highs whereas the ones I switched to did not perform as well; therefore the assumption that all the holdings are "good" does not hold water; some are obviously better than others.
I need your help to sort this out.
Thanks,
Tony

Q: I have approx 30k to invest in a TFSA which currently has Questor as it's only holding. My RRSP pretty much mirrors your Model portfolio with the addition of DHX , GUD and DEE. I would like to maintain a 20-25 total stock approach across both accounts but wonder what companies you recommend at this time or what positions I should add to?
Thank you
Thank you
Q: Question on Nevada Copper (NCU-T) - would love to hear your thoughts on the name and if you would view the recent pullback towards the 200-day as a buying opportunity. Would have expected stronger performance after the positive permitting news released on July 30th. Is this a short term buying opportunity before final Senate decision this fall?
Q: My TFSA is fully topped up. I currently hold AVO, BNS, CCL.b, IPL and SPB. AVO has been been a disappointment but I'll hang in.
I am thinking of selling IPL and possibly BNS and replacing with XHY ishares bond fund. Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Q: With reporting to happen soon, is right now a good time to buy a Canadian bank stock? What would be your top 3 CDN banks to get into now? Why do you favor BNS in your portfolio with its foray into Central and South America?
Q: I would like to get your opinion on Partner REIT (PAR.UN), after they 50% dividend cut if the stock represent a good value at this point. Thank you
Q: What do you think of holding the Pimco PGI.UN as an alternative to cash? They seem to have a strong yield and little volatility. Thanks.
Q: Hi thin is my first question here as a new member, its regarding par.un , I bought this about 2 years ago for 7.40 and its trading now for 4.36, im kicking myself now for not selling it last week for 5.20, so what do you suggest I do now buy sell or hold, or wait for a bounce, I have an 800K account and about 50k in cap gains in 2014
