Q: Hi, as much as I love the place I find it hard to believe that a ski resort can actually make money in the long term. Would you consider WB a buy right now? I'm interested in the long term sustainability of it's dividend. On a side note, I understand they generate a significant portion of their annual electrical requirements from internally owned, water driven facilities.

Q: There seems to be so much negative news lately: slow growth in China, deflation in Europe, commodity deflation (oil going to zero)and of course the Greek exit.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,
I am trying to add fixed income to my retiree portfolio. Have never been a fan of fixed income since being badly burned in 1994. (long memory) I am thinking CBO 15% in RRIF's,
CVD 5% in RRIF's
CPD 5% in taxable accounts.
Your suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am reluctant to assume a higher allocation.

Q: Hello Peter and team;
There has been quite a bit of press lately on energy company high yield bonds, the spike in rates due to their falling prices and potential defaults all as a result of the oil price collapse. There is also reference to previous collapses in the junk bond market as a prelude to a significant pulling down of the broader market with it.
What is your view on this and do you see similarities to the current bond conditions and the collapse of 2008.
Thanks
Jerry

Q: Interfor has been in a pretty good tailspin the last week or so. They did a nice acquisition in December, then in January a bot deal at $20.10. The deal was well received and I understand it was over sold by a lot. Anyway the stock is now at $18.75 and seems to be breaking down. What is your opinion?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: can I get your thoughts on Elkwater for my TFSA. I'm pretty balanced and have a 5+ year horizon. Would this be a better opportunity than PLI?

Q: could you please give me any advice on this fund.
We bought this years ago and sold. Now it has come down substantially.
What is the reason that it has come down so fast?
Might this be a good entry point?

Q: Hi Folks,
Forgive me for not being an economist: I am trying to understand the relationship between the falling CAN dollar in relation to U.S dollars, as it relates to the oil price and how Canadian companies report earnings. I appreciate that a lower canadian dollar has a moderating effect on Canadian Oil companies such as COS because they are selling their barrels in U.S dollars. For example, if the oil price stays at $50 U.S, this is close to $60 CAN assuming an 80 cent canadian dollar. This specific company COS has costs per barrel at ~45 CAN. Given this scenario, it doesn't seem to me that the world is coming to an end for canadian oil companies. Do you agree with my analysis? Have I missed something I should be considering? With Many thanks.

Q: I'm close to breaking even with autocanada and with the uncertainty of the economy out west I am on the fence about hanging on to it. I remember you saying the current valuation already reflects some risks however, I would prefer to diversify into some other companies with a reasonable valuation. I'd like to think autocanada has had most of the damage done already but when sentiment goes bad it usually takes alot to change it. What do you think I should do with acq? I am pretty well diversified other than that. Could you name some stocks with a good valuation. I am currently looking into gud, cxr, cxi,crh and atd.b.
Many thanks and keep up the good work!!!

Q: What do you think of this fund right now? He seems to be making about 10% per year or so only being about 50% long or so and with preference shares and high yield bonds alongside select equity holdings. Do you think this fund will be able to make 9-10% per year for the long term? Thanks for the incredible service!
Q: Are you aware of any fundamental news to account for the sell-off late Tuesday? Thank you.
Q: Hello Peter,
Can you please provide a view as to how you would sell stocks? For example, a company like BCE is much easier as it does not go up dramatically and one can compare its fundamentals. We can do the same for PHM or NHC, but the stocks go up 10 - 15 % up in one day, and another day, they may down alot and than bounce back. Is it best to simply trim as they go up? Please advise on the sell strategy, specifically on the smaller names. Thanks very much. Umed

Q: Good Afternoon!
I have been keeping an eye on this recommendation since your last update, and since bottoming out in the $.25 range, this stock has been moving upwards. It is receiving more coverage including a recommendation from Fabrice Taylor. Can you provide an update on this company, why is it moving up again, and if you now consider its prospects in a better light. I would love if you could include a review of it current financials and fundamentals! Thanks!!
