Q: Hi all. I have held AEM (Agnico Eagle) and CS Cap Stone for about 3 months and am down about 25%. They just continue to go in one direction down. If you owned them - what would you do with them? Thanks Dennis

Thinking of an American etf of defence stocks to play the US dollar and the US need to dominate the world. At 67 years old I am willing to place the bet. Which ETF do you think would suit my needs. Q: In the September 2014 issue of Money Saver there is an article about Connacher Oil and Gas(CLL). Wondering if your advice would be the same as this article seems to suggest. The author is suggesting that this $.22 stock could soon become a $2.50 stock. Thanks for a great service.
Q: re: WIN.TO
Wi-Lan stock price spiked higher with huge volume at the very last few seconds of the trading day. I have a big position in the stock, and trying find a chance to reduce my position and use the fund for some other technology or industrial names under 5i coverage. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Q: Hi 5i,
Just wondering what your position is on VOC energy trust in the NYSE. I have a fairly large position and have done quite well with its generous dividend. With a 52 week high at 17.51 and decent fundamentals is it worth the risk to continue reaping the benefits or is it time to move on?
Thanks

Q: In response to the Sept 17 & 18 questions on Portfolio Tracking I'd like to say that this issue has been brought up at least twice in the past 2+ years in this forum, the last in early July, 2013. Which brings me to a growing problem here: the archive is getting so large that it takes far less time to ask a new question than scroll back through pages in say, Investor Strategies and Resources to find what you want. A keyword search function for Portfolio Tracking, or Balancing, or Diversification etc. would solve this problem, and save the 5i team some work, too. Or you could create subsections within each category, or just cull some of the older stuff...
Back to Antoine's question - he might look at Google Finance.ca which tracks not only dividends paid but dividends scheduled to be paid, once declared, and has a cool chart on your daily/weekly performance. Multiple portfolios for free. I also use Globeinvestor Gold, reluctantly because it's the best of the mediocre lot and definitely has its limitations and inaccuracies. I would love to have a tracker that amazes me with what it can do, and save me time on some calculations I must do manually now.

Q: re: F Ford
Doesn't appear to be much interest in our forum.
Do you have any comments on Ford moving forward over say... the next 3 years? Is it cheap at these levels? How do you see the auto industry in general over the next 3 years?
Thanks for all you do

Q: re:MG Magna
Hello 5i Team
Magna is one of those names I have been kicking myself for not getting into back in mid Feb when I began watching it. Now, as I continue watching, reviews coming in appear to be mixed which for me is a little confusing.
Everyone agrees it is a well run company, it appears to be trading at around 10 times earnings, and auto sales should improve over the coming years considering the age of the fleet and the slowly improving economy. my questions are...
1) is there a reason you know of that explains the significant drop today?
2) at the present price, how do the metrics look?
3) would you recommend buying now, or holding tight?
As usual, Thanks for all you do, it is always appreciated!!!

Q: Is Currency Exchange International (CXI on TSX) worth a full position in a diversified portfolio? I was considering this over Manulife (MFC), for a bit of added exposure in the financial sector, though understandably each is in a different sub-sector of Financials. Or would Manulife be the better investment? What are the inherent risks with CXI other than its size? 5 I philosophy also stresses the value of good management in carrying a company forward: are you at all familiar with this management team and its track record? Thanks, as always.
Q: Could you give your opinion on whether TRP is likely to drop dramatically in the next year due to increases in the interest rate or due to its valuation returning to a more normal level. Thanks.

Q: I am considering buying additional shares in Alimentation Couche Tard (ATD.A) due to the recent drop in price as a result of falling TSX. I just want to confirm that the price decline is due to general market conditions. Thanks. Gerry
