Q: re:TD + ("Canada's" 6 biggest banks)

catching up a little late on my reading... have a 10% position in TD. Read an article which said...

"""Canada’s six biggest banks - Toronto-Dominion Bank (NYSE:TD), Royal Bank of Canada (NYSE:RY), Bank of Nova Scotia (NYSE:BNS), Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (NYSE:CM), Bank of Montreal (NYSE:BMO) and National Bank of Canada (OTCPK:NTIOF) - had their outlooks cut to negative from stable by Standard & Poor’s because of regulatory changes that could affect bondholders."""

the comment continued with

"""S&P says the outlook revision reflects its "expectation of reduced potential for extraordinary government support arising from implementation of the proposed new elements of the resolution framework for Canadian banks.""""

I am up 12% and have very minimal understanding about what this exactly says.... what is your recommendation please?

Thank you for all you do

Gord

Q: Hi
I purchased CEE a few years ago in hopes of some growth but seen little. The reason or thinking was that the deposit and management were excellent (not certain now) but I assume the political challenges in the country are too great or don't help and wondering if I should continue to hold or sell and go with something more stable such as Eldorado or something else you would recommend?

Thank you,
Frank

Q: Good morning ,
A new trust DRA.UN formed from an amalgamation of assets has traded for about 5 weeks. Would you consider this an appropriate investment for a renewable infrastructure play? Dream (Dundee) is a well established firm with reasonable depth. What would you suggest if the timing is too early for Dream?
Thanks Guys

Q: Hi I just subscribed so I hope I am not doing something wrong. I searched for AGF.B on TSX. The search did not return any result. Hence my Question. (If AGF.B has already been covered, my apologies)
-----------------
Question: I bought AGF.F around C$15 and the [mis]management of this firm has me very puzzled. Asset managers have been doing rather well in the most recent years to date.

Is this stock worth keeping? Has good yield but is this company a lost cause ? Or do you think they controlling family will have the guts to hire a few more outsiders and right the sorry ship?

Thank you

Q: Exfo xtc even though they had record earnings the stock does not move much. Would this company be of interest to say magna, linamar or even martinrea for their European exposure? Or do they need to grow more before anyone would be interested? What is the insider ownership. Thanks.

Q: WCP/SGY: Hi Peter and team. I own both and am considering adding more, potentially of each. Benji Galander, truly a contrarian, is decidedly negative on SGY considering it very risky with very little cash. How would you rebut and how do you view a decision between these two today? Or should I also be considering TORC or others in the field?

Thanks

Q: Hello 5i team,
The only media-related company I hold is BCE. I am now examining DHX Media but I'm trying to make sense of it; its ROE is a poor 3-4% but most of everybody is impressed by its library of kid shows. How does one evaluate their value; do you think that "Sesame Street" that I watched with my kids in the 80's has much value today?...In other words, how are the shows depreciated?
Thanks,
Tony

Q: Hello again Peter and Team. Would you be able to rate the Ten sectors as to their potential volatility within a correction or recessionary environment.I am sure that Financials would be the strongest suit, but not sure which way I would lean towards in considering the positive, or negative potential of Energy, Utilities and Industrials. I am particularly interested in where you would place Materials and Info Tech. Your thoughts please? Thanks again.

Q: Hi,

I am planning on adding a tech stock to my portfolio.

Between qcom, open text and cgi which would be your preferred stock. I am already overweight CSU in the portfolio.

The correction in qcom makes it attractive in terms of valuation, OTC had a fabulous quarter and cgi has a promising outlook.

Thanks for your response.
