Q: I own some NEO performance materials and I noticed it is at 52 week lows, and at the currrent price (a little under $7) the dividend yield is about 5.7 per cent. The net cash on the balance sheet (according to the last quarter) shows that the market cap is about 30 per cent covered by the cash on the balance sheet. This company is profitable, pays a healthy covered dividend, is buying back a few shares with a NCIB and is in a future world part of the economy (magnets for electric cars, wind turbines, defense products, etc. I think I should add more on this weakness in the share price. Am I missing something glaringly wrong with this under-the-radar company?

Q: Hi 5i,

I have to take funds from my RRIF which is made up of stocks and fixed income. I want to confirm my thinking on the subject.

I think it is better to take out my stocks first and then in later years the fixed income. My thinking is that the stocks will appreciate faster than the fixed income thus creating more RRIF capital to remove in later years which will cause additional tax. It is better to have the additional appreciation outside of the RRIF.

Do you agree?

Thanks for the help.

Q: This name is in both the 5i Income and BE portfolios at a 6% weighting yet yields under 1%, where no other stock in the Income portfolio comes close to. I understand it is the best performer in that portfolio and am wondering if it is there to 'juice up' the return on an otherwise mediocre performance. Could you confirm this rationale or explain the thinking, please.

Q: Hello Peter,
Given the huge decline in shares of both stocks and your positive views on both stocks (despite short report on BIP), is it a good time to increase the weights to 5 percent for 3 to 5 year hold and collect the dividends while the stock gets the momentum.. Much appreciate it.
