Q: AEM: notice down a fair bit. TPE approx. 9 & FPE approx. 24? I was thinking of buying as hedge against disaster. Owned Placer Dome way back when. Odd the FPE going up - due to increased costs?
Thanks,
Jim
Q: On October 31st, Lorraine asks 5I to recommend their 5 top Cdn or US energy stocks. SU was omitted. Yet, looking back thru the "questions" library, SU was always recommended as a top pick (usually SU, CNQ and TOU).
Q: Do you still like WIRE? According to one of the Globe's recent guest columnists (a Mr. Teich at Avenue Investment Management) "We've never seen a business with this strong of a balance sheet". He says the market cap is US $2.8 billion which is down from your April commentary. Has the stock been really weak? Are they a copper miner or more of a fabricator?
Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.
Jim
Q: There has been recent news and stock movement for Li-Cycle Holdings and I was wondering if you could comment the company as a potential long term investment?
Is it still too early in their history to invest?
What would you need to see from the company in order to be comfortable investing?
What would be an approximate price where you would consider investing?
Q: my debentures have traded down to 120.

Q: BIP.UN and BIPC.TO are down significantly YTD. However recently BIP.UN has recovered some of the lossess and appears to be formimg a base wheras BIPC.TO continues to go down. Do they own the same assets and why is BIP.TO performing worse than BIP.UN
Q: Renowned bear David Rosenberg says in today's Globe that he is positive on defense stocks. No individual stocks are mentioned in the article. Given the state of the world i have been watching a few defense stocks for some time but haven't pulled the trigger. Two of interest are KTOS and AVAV. Both are experiencing sales growth but neither are profitable. Do you see them turning a profit in the near term and which one looks better? Thanks.
Q: Hi 5i
Not sure if I have my facts straight on this questions, but, I Recently read that BMO is shopping/selling their portfolio of RV loans, which I think they inherited with the bank of the west deal....and that this is another red flag concerning underlying BMO profitability and negatively affecting share price., ect, ect....Is there any truth to this and in your opinion actually an additional red flag that investors need to pay additional attention to. If so how would this deal work and to what degree would you be concerned?
thx
Q: Is the decline over the last three months related to the general decline of higher growth stocks? And what do you think of the recent results that led to a big drop last week? I'm wondering if it's still a good long-term hold or if not, is there another health care stock in the higher risk, higher growth category that you like more?
Q: Greetings:
Knowing that you are not tax experts, and also that you invest in USA securities, do you think that when one invests in USA REITS ( ie, american tower. etc. ) does the 10 % tax apply as in the case of MLP'S.
Also, I am not trying to trip you up, but in two recent answers Bill on Oct 20, and Lorraine on Oct 31. you show different interest rates and mer's for HISA and PSA. Perhaps the interest rates have increased but in the case of PSA the mer has decreased??.
Q: Greetings:
You have had several questions concerning drips and the discounts allowed when the shares are purchased. I was advised by my discount brokers that they decide what companies will be put in their list of drips, and furthermore no discounts are provided unless the shares are held in your own name. All other drip programs are synthetic drips. Please elaborate.
