Q: Hi Team,
Can I have your thoughts on nvei earnings? Currently the market is not happy with them and SP is dropping like a stone. In the release I see the net earnings have collapsed due to what appears to be interest payments on debt. This being said; what would possess them to start giving out a cash dividend when net income is almost now zero? Wouldn't the money be better spent trying to pay the debt down that is now sinking their net earnings? It seems even though revenue is building and even though they keep adding new customers they just can't get their earnings to improve. Is it time to dump this name or hold out for better days, or perhaps a takeout?

Shane.

Q: Based on the recent earnings report it looks like Nuvei's growth is challenged. The announcement of a modest dividend appears to be an effort to mollify negative sentiment. Given the recent negative momentum and the muted forward guidance, please give your opinion on continuing to hold at a considerable loss (TFSA) vs selling and redeploying the cash to add to either TRI or ATS. Thank you. Please use as many credits as you need.

Q: I recall (pre-covid) hearing this name often as a trendy pick online. Mini-Berkshire was among the descriptions based on the way they do business. It seems to have settled into a pattern of doing very little but I would like to ask if you think it's a safe play with lots of upside or just something to leave sitting alone on the corner? Super thin trader.

Q: My only energy holding is ENB, and I'm thinking of replacing it with something with greater growth prospects. Dividends are not too important. Are there any of the stocks listed you would suggest at this time? (Or any others??)

Q: Dear 5i,
If one wanted to get exposure to Japan using either FLJP or FLJH and had a medium to long term view that the Japanese currency was going to get stronger than the US dollar. Which ETF is the best one to purchase for maximum appreciation? I often get confused with hedged and non-hedged products. Can you share any simple rules I might use in future to avoid the confusion. Thanks

Q: I've been expecting utilities-and-telecoms to see better price action on the prospect of stable rates, but today's reversal suggests a continuing downtrend. Likewise, I've been expecting financials to continue to look past these same fears (and there has been progress), but now wonder if we've reached a plateau.

Given that these sectors 'should' be responsive to different forces, which would you pick for a quicker and more robust upturn? More specifically, should we expect utilities to continue to suffer until rates actually go down by some significant percentage?

Q: I am looking for companies that can "see over a recession", and has pricing power to counter-act inflation. An example: a company that helps another company (which is directly impacted by the recession). ATS comes to (my) mind.
What companies come to your mind?
Related: Continuing my own research, I read the Key Ratios for ATS on the 5i site.
PE 45, a bit high for my liking
But concensus EPS for next 4 Qs totals $6.56
At today's stock price, that's a PE of 11.5; that sounds terrific
ROE and Revenue Growth stats look good.
I'd like your commentary on this...."analysis"; moreover, what do you see in the Key Ratios that a retail investor should take note of (ATS, and/or generally).
Many thanks.

Q: WCN halted share buybacks, matched estimates on the quarter, 0.7% dividend and looking pricey at 33x. I've held it a long time and up nicely 60% in registered account . Would it be prudent to swap it out for GDI for better growth?
Thanks
Steve

Q: I own First Majestic Silver Corp. I didn't notice it listed in the drop down menu of companies above. AG is my worst preforming stock in my precious metals sector. Would you sell it for another stock that has better prospects (if so which one and a brief why) or would you still hold. It in a TFSA so there is no tax loss harvesting her. I already own AEM, KKR, BTO and SSRM.

Q: WHi Peter,

I read your comparison of Flutter and DraftKings on July 13.

Do the recent results from DraftKings shift the needle significantly for growth as well as profitability making it less risky and would give it the nod over Flutter for a balanced portfolio investment. Is DKNY a buy now?
Regards
Rajiv
