Q: I just started to buy walmart via a drip I have over 33% in U.S. stocks. I am low with consumer cyclical (only have AYA). That's why Wmt interested me. Should I refocus purchases on Cdn consumer cyclical since I've got enough U.S. stocks? If so which stock would you recommend? Hopefully one with a share purchase plan that allows me to buy over time.

Q: Could I get your opinion on these types of products? The idea is to prepare for the next correction or bear market, or is it better to just buy GICs? These ETF products seem very complicated and returns have not been that great.
Q: Hi Peter
Can you give an update on Melcor
Thanks

Q: Hi Peter and the gang,
I bought CSU at just under $170 and its trading at over $500 right now with a multiple in the high 60s. Just wondering what your thoughts are going forward and should I take some money off the table.
Regards,
H.S.

Q: Hello Team
As you know the FDA has granted Fast Track designation to Intellipharmaceuticals abuse deterrent Oxycodone ( Rexistra ). In a nutshell what are the next steps the company would take to get their product to market such as licensing, selling rights, getting production set up etc? How does it all work? Does Intellipharmaceuticals have the financial might to accomplish the task or will they need help? What is a typical time frame between approval and marketing for a product such as this. Considering the issues around the abuse of Oxycondin I expect that Intellipharmaceutis have a good product and opportunity.
Have a Good weekend
Thanks for your help

Q: Please provide you expert opinion on this stock. I noticed a sizable stock buyback was just announced.
Q: I know over the long term that you feel this company will do well. It continues to push upward and I am not sure if it has pushed up to much to quickly.
Is now an okay time, or should I wait for a pull back?
Any good strategies on buying low volume stocks, or just ensure I set some limits?
As always thanks for great guidance.

Q: Good evening Peter,
I would like your thoughts and insight on my below Investment strategy
I am an Investor, not a trader. I believe in owning great companies and never selling them.
I am 52 years old and have been managing our investments through a discount broker for the last 10 years with a Dividend strategy for my retirement.
We have both registered, TFSA & unregistered account's for my wife and myself and we do not have an employer pensions.
All accounts currently have a drip program and the plan is to have these accounts fund our retirement in 8 years.
I realize that the Canadian banks, utilities, telecom, pipeline, reits, ect...will be negatively affected by rising interest rates, which is mostly what we are invested in.
When rates rise, these stock prices will be lower, which I feel for our dividend strategy is good. This will mean via the drip program I will be able to buy more shares and therefore more income when the time comes to retire. I plan to never sell these great Canadian dividend paying companies we own.
Please let me know your thoughts on this stragety
Looking forward to hearing from you...
Thank you Gordon...

Q: FNV has recently been added to the S&P/TSX 60 in place of TLM. Will this have a positive effect over next +/- 2 years? What is your view for FNV performance over that time frame?
Q: Hi Peter, I have been "dabbling" in the stock market with equities and options over the last 20 years. While I have gained some knowledge, I would like to develop the ability to manage my own portfolio over the next couple of years as I approach retirement (in 5 years). Can you recommend some readings and courses / seminars / etc I can take to enhance my knowledge of equities, derivatives and portfolio management.
Thank you
Thank you
Q: Hi 5i: I have too many stocks and am trying to consolidate. I'd appreciate your comments on my financial holdings, which are a little over 15% of my portfolio. On the C$ side I have: SLF (3/4 position), EFN (full) and CXI (1/2); on the US$ side I have JPM (3/4), C (1/2) and KRE (1/2). I hold some Canadian banks in separate dividend portfolio that I am not concerned about right now. In my active portfolio I would like to hold maybe 4 financial stocks with weights that balance out risk and provide some diversification within the sector. Your comments would be much appreciated. Suggestions to swap some of what I hold for other stocks would also be welcomed.
Q: I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A GOOD PLACE TO BE WITH MY FIXED INCOME 60% TO 70% OF MY PORTFOLIO AS I'M 72 AND THE MARKET SEEMS READY TO RETREAT SOMEWHAT. THIS FUND IS NEW BUT LOOKS PROMISING. PLEASE ADVISE ME, THANK YOU
Q: Would it make sense to sell td, and buy SLF, recognising the impending interest rate rise.
Thank you
Thank you
Q: Hi there. I'm new to investing, and would love your thoughts.
I've opened up a TFSA and bought shares in CDZ, IT, PHM, SCR and XIC. There is also a mutual fund in the TFSA that I was planning on selling and investing in stocks.
Would love to know what you think of that mix, and if you have suggestions for other investments.
Thanks very much.

Q: I am planning on gifting some shares of Amaya gaming to a charitable organization. The shares have a significant capital gain, but I wonder if I should wait until the shares are listed on the NASDAQ exchange June 8. Do you think the shares will further appreciate in value after the NASDAQ listing?

Q: Is there any reason you know of that has caused the upward move of this stock today. Thanks.
Q: I have an account where Intel has grown to over 5% weighting. I also hold Stantec, but its weighting is under 3%.
I am considering selling some Intel to buy some more Stantec to get them both around 4%. Since STN also trades on the NYSE, I thought I would avoid the currency exchange and just purchase it in the US.
Does this seem like a reasonable move?
Thanks.

Q: Wondering if you know why such a large increase in Veresen's volume on Friday?
Q: I have a well diversified portfolio and was wondering which 3 stocks, beat up or otherwise, you would recommend today for purchase in a TFSA. Thanks!!
