Q: Hi Peter and 5i crew, my diversification is lacking the Healthcare sector and I was wondering if you could provide me with a couple of stocks that I could purchase now for at least a 5 year hold, and as usual thanks for a great service and I am grateful to be a small part of your membership.
Q: I added to my shares of pne with the recent pullback in energy. Would like to trim shares when shares are up more, thinking this would be my way of generating dividends from the stock. I have problem with timing when to trim my position. I tend to be all over the map. Could you give advice on this?
Q: Hello Peter and team,
A friend asked me my opinion about his LIRA account (which he won't be accessing for about 25 years). For a few reasons he is not interested in transferring to a self-directed account, wishing to keep this part of his portfolio with his financial adviser. She believes that Edgepoint Global Growth and Income (EDG180) is the best option for him. I have never heard of Edgepoint, so after a cursory glance at their website and Morningstar looks fine, I thought I would ask you. Do you have any feedback about Edgepoint as an investment company and EDG180 as a fund that I could share with my friend?
I appreciate the excellent service you provide.
Thanks in advance, Rory

Q: Good morning,
Presently in my portfolio I do not carry any tele-communication stocks. I am looking at a long term hold with good dividend. The one that I am looking at right now is CJR.B.
For 5% weighing in my portfolio what do you think? Would have other suggestion in the same market.
Thank You.
Paul

Q: Currently hold the above security and hope to transfer it to my TFSA in January. Will this be permitted or must I convert it to the Canadian equivalent? BEP.UN. Thanks for all you do
Q: Could you please recommend four or five of your favourites for my TFSA in January . Thanx Robbie
Q: Can you give me your opinion on Journey Energy? I realize it is new, but it third quarter results looked good. Is it's dividend secure? Does it have much debt? Thanks for your help.
Q: Hello 5i team.
I have read that your favourite US dividend ETF is VIG. I own the TSX listed version (VGG) in my RRSP. Although, there is no withholding tax on dividends in an RRSP, there seem to be some erosion from taxes within VGG itself. Can you recommend a US dividend etf that is efficient to hold within an RRSP?
I note that the total return of VIG has been less than VV. Is this compensated for by lower volatility?
Thanks,
Hans

Q: Are you able to indicate what the Bnn policy is with respect to the top picks? I had been wondering what it is. Some times you hear a guest mention a restriction on their buying of the top picks and other times I could have swore I heard them say they were buying the stock the day before or even that day. Thank you.
Q: Hi Peter,
I was planning to add ZIC, BMO Mid-term US IG Corporate Bond Index etf, to my portfolio. It has a yield of 3.4% and the weighted average duration is 6.51 years.
What are your thoughts on buying ZIC at this time and your general opinion on bonds at this point in the economic cycle?
Thank You

Q: I understand the Q3 report showed a dip in new car sales which spooked the market a bit. With the sharp decrease in the oil and gas market, I wonder if the Prairies will experience a downturn (or sideways) movement in the economy, or at least give the perception of tougher times. New car sales might be the first to suffer. This could cause some negative news for the next few quarters. On the other hand ACQ might pick up some cheap acquisitions. I love the company but I wonder if it might be best to get out until the dust settles. I would appreciation your advice.
Q: Hi,
With a view of investing in severely beaten down companies which ones do you think have the most potential of recovery. Can you provide 5 names (excluding the precious metals sector). Thanks

Q: Hello.
I read on BNN that Penn West (PWT.TO) is seeing some aggressive insider buying. What are your thoughts? Stock is inexpensive ($4.76) with a whopping 11.75% dividend. Sustainable?

Q: Hi Peter
Today's downgrade on NA concerns me. I hold TD,BNS and BMO as well as NA. I'm thinking of selling NA and buying Enbridge. I'm up 18% on NA. Please comment. If not Enbridge do have another recommendation? Thanks for all past advice.

Q: I have most of my portfolio in cash and equities. I don't understand bonds very well and I'd like your recommendation on a long term bond for a RRSP.
Thanks

Q: Hello Peter,
Since the article in the Globe about Nuvo Research, the stock has surged. Is there other news you are aware of that is moving the stock higher? Also, Concordia's numbers were excellent even though they missed the estimate. Is this the reason why the stock is flat since the earnings and in general when companies continue to increase their revenues and Earnings but miss estimates, is this a bad sign for a stock as i thought the analyst estimates was just one factor in buying and selling not the complete reason for owning or selling the stock. Thanks for your advice.
