Q: Not a question but more of a comment regarding the following answer you provided: "Credit Suisse has downgraded the company to underperform, but these moves are designed to generate trading and fear amongst investors, in order to get commissions."
This is so true and so conflict-free, bring it on!
Q: Hi Peter
I just checked my TFSA account and have a 1% admin fee taken out by RBC. Is this a standard fee in the banking sector? It covers the cost of trades. I have a self administered account with TD and am wondering if I could transfer the account.
Thanks
Gary
(Anxiously awaiting the portfolio review!)
Q: Would appreciate an update on this co notwithstanding its upcoming vote re buying Canadian assets. I know the high yield is a warning but even if they halved it, it would still be above average. Thanks
Q: Peter -do you have any thoughts on the relative attractiveness of the Aig warrants versus Aig common ...and whether you view either as compelling here?
Another microcap with potential i believe. they lost one customer, which is GM, however they renewed 8 recently and have gone live with a Tier 1 bank. thoughts on potential growth?
Q: Last question February.
This company has staged a reversal of fortune that just showed in the reporting numbers. This due to the magic of gas prices sustained over $4 and also a crisis level of water supply/water usage in the fracking world that is bringing the oil companies to look for a bit more "Stewardship.." of the land.
A compelling story in my own view. Do you concur?
Q: Hi I would be interested in your thoughts on Bankers Petroleum. It has been hammered along with most energy stocks lately. Do you think it might be a good time to pick some up. It looks quite interesting. It would only represent a small percentage of a diversified portfolio. If not could you recommend something else in the energy sector that might be a better long term bet.
recent commentary mentions CHK beat wall street expectations on their latest reporting. Can you please comment on the recent quarter and expectations moving forward?
Q: Peter, with banks earnings starting early December can you give us what to expect from the six banks? Which bank will raise dividends? Do you expect good results and what to watch from their earnings? Thanks in advance as always.
Q: Peter I wish I had bought this at $5 or $6 when all the BNN guys and bank "experts" were saying fully valued . You are still very high on it so you.feel there is still good growth there aside from take out potential?
Have recently read an article outlining price objectives as stated by a number of brokerage houses (Scotia, PI & Laurentian to name a few) and it appears they have all downgraded their expectations for CVL with 6 research analysts rating it a hold and 4 others a buy.
I have held shares for some time with a small position and am under water a tad. Can you please comment on recent results and what you see moving forward? (as best as possible) And would you take a small loss here or hang tight while looking forward to the next agricultural cycle?
Q: Would you please offer some recommendations for investing in USA equities for my RRSP. I am retired and am looking for equities that balance both growth and dividends. I have built my Canadian investments to mirror your model portfolio but would like some additional USA exposure.
Thank you for this exceptional service.
Deborah
Q: Hi Peter,
Can you provide an update regarding Hewlett-Packard's turnaround story. Do you still see this as a good value buying opportunity? Can you please comment regarding their medium term growth prospects? Thank you. Linda
Q: Would you consider this ETF a good add on to my portfolio for stability and decent growth. It seems to have been doing pretty good lately and wandering if that would be due to the consumer staples that it holds.
