Q: Hi Guys, Is there a trading tool you know of where I can back-test a trading hypothesis to see it's success? For example, what I would test today is to examine the trade (long) success of buying equity in a company where the current share price trades at a discount to a bought deal financing such as the one announced today (@22.25). With many many thanks again

Q: Hi.
Peter mentioned Evert Technologies in the weekend National Post. I can't find the company on 5i site. Do you cover this stock and what do you think of it as an income/dividend growth stock.
Thank you David.

Q: Hi Peter and Team, We have two positions of SYZ: one position in a RRIF and another position in a RRSP. We have made money in both, but SYZ has been lagging lately. How would you feel about replacing one of these positions with ABT which seems to be doing better presently?
Would it matter which position was swapped? Thanks in advance for the timely advice.

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Member 5 months, great advice, only one buy so far not worked out being BDI at about $21.50.Should have averaged down when you did the report a month ago..up 15% plus since then.
You have been asked today about dividend safety...small holding, dont own Horizon and dont want it...is your outlook on its customers expansion long term enough to make it still a buy at this price with capital appreciation for long term holder to average down
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: Hello,
What is your opinion of LOY at these prices?
Also, I bought 1/2 position in BIN last week to start. It has since dropped 4%. Do you know why? How long should I wait to buy my other half position?
Thanks,
Carla

Q: Hi Peter & team
I am trying my best to makes heads OR tails out of the ComCast TWX merger, whether it will or will not receive approval from federal regulators, and what each outcome will mean moving forward.
Presently, I am up over 34% not including an OK dividend. And I think I have an idea what to expect if the merger proceeds... as per one article I read "As part of the deal, Time Warner Cable investors will receive 2.875 of Comcast stock for each of their shares." A nice windfall for sure.
Today one analyst reported the merger has only a 60% chance of approval, and another lowered the odds of the deals approval to 70% from 80%. And ComCast is down 1.53% today on the news.
To be honest I don't think I have a choice but to hang in there as an positive decision (expected summer 2015) is far to juicy if approval is received.
My questions... with your resources what are you hearing and what are your thoughts about this merger' chance of going ahead?
And if it doesn't what do you think that will do to the share price for TWX?
And finally, what would you do in my situation?
As always after renewing my subscription for the first time... thanking you for all you do
Gord

Q: Good Afternoon, Have held CVL for awhile, ok performance/dividend. Considering a switch to BIN considering that it should exhibit better growth prospects given the current Western funk. Would you agree with this move? Thanks
Q: Hi Peter
I bought Petrowest a year ago. I have now lost about 50% and it does not show any recovery. Should I sell?

Q: I have done surprisingly well with my two pizza holdings... both are decent for income too . You recommended bpf.un .
Do I really need 2 pizza shops ? ... Would you advise that I drop one ?
If so , which should I keep ?
Or should I keep both ? ... or should I cash out completely ?
Is there a seasonal aspect to Discretionary-Restaurant ? I own A&W as well.

Q: So sleepy PWF seems to have awakened from it's eternal slumber and popped this past week. Any particular reason or insider buying? It hasn't seen this range since 2007.
