Q: Just when I started to feel more comfortable, they do a share offering today! Long time holder, happy dividend collector but perpetually nervous.... I am in 50% below this share price. What do you think? I find it disturbing that they need to do this right now, with a high share price.

Q: ARII reported last night and the only negative seems to be lower revenue due to more rentals than sales. Although this shows up as a one time negative, it strikes me as a longer term positive overall. Your thoughts are appreciated, suggesting that the sell-off is short cited. Thanks.

Q: I read your updated report on HCG and agree that this is a great company. However, the NIM, EPS growth and ROE have all been declining as the yield curve has become more flat and competition for mortgage business has increased. Do you see this as a short term issue or more or a longer term problem?

Thanks,
Hans

Q: Over the past year the TSX has performed reasonably well.
And interest rates have been relatively benign. Yet CVD is down over this same period and has been dropping steadily since mid last year. All this within what should be a positive environment for this type of ETF. So why is it doing as poorly as it is. Is it the quality of the underlying assets, management, or something else. My concern is if it cannot maintain it value in a strong market and low interest rates, what happens if interest rates begin to rise. Also, if you share any of these concerns, would you consider dropping the ETF from your portfolio?

Q: Good Afternoon,
I will be making my annual RRSP contribution in the next week or so and based on your research and all the Q & A here I have narrowed it down to 2 stocks, CXI or DHX.b. I was leaning toward CXI but it has taken a huge run in the last week or so now not so sure. This is for the very long term, which one of the two do you feel has the most upside. Thank-you

Q: Hello 5i. In answering subscribers' questions, you often discuss a security, or a sector not exceeding a specific percentage. In a case where a portfolio consists of Cash, Fixed Income, and Equities, are you referring only to the percentage held in Equities in these replies ? Please elaborate. Thanks T.

Q: Please comment on the quarterly results released today. I hold a 2% position, and am considering adding to this sector. Would Goldcorp remain your first choice?

Q: If you had a choice today between these two companies, which would you buy for a 2 year hold, with growth being the major intent? I know I keep asking these apples and oranges comparisons, but somehow they make sense in my mind, even if in no one else's. Thank your for your patience -- and as always, for your help.

Q: Hello

This is a follow question on a Q&A I read about Glentel.

Basically you suggest to the Gentel shareholder to 'TENDER' their shares as otherwise there may be some delay.

My Question may seem silly, but how do I go about Tendering shares, when shares are held through a broker? I emailed my broker and they where not informative on how to do that.

Thank you.

Original Q&A I saw is cut and paste below.

Question: I talked to I trade where are GLENTEL shares are held and was told that you can no longer choose the option of cash or shares in BCE. If you wanted to do so you had to say so three days before the shareholders meeting earlier in January. Most people would obviously choose the shares with BCE hitting new highs. Is it still possible to get shares in BCE? THANKS

5i Research Answer:
In most cases, if you have missed the deadline, then you will by default get the pro rata allocation that everyone else gets: i.e. some BCE shares and some cash. You do need to tender your shares, otherwise there may be some delay. You will then need to buy BCE shares with the cash received if you want to swap all of the value of GLN into BCE.

Q: Presently, I own CRH Medical (CRH), Patient Home Monitoring (PHM) and Prometic Life (PLI). CRH is going up nicely every day - is the valuation stretching?
Please suggest a fourth name to add to this list. I don't mind some risk for the rewards the three mentioned have given.
Thank you.

Can you please provide an updated investment opinion on FTG.

It has recently announced a few new long term contracts and is performing well from a technical perspective recently.

Please include the prospects for future growth and a picture of their balance sheet.

Q: I have only a small percentage of US securities in my portfolio: MS, CSX, WMB and DFS. I've just heard about ENTG and am considering buying. I know you don't specialize in US stocks, but I'd sure appreciate an opinion if you know the company. Many thanks.
