Q: I am attempting to increase the bond exposure in my portfolio. Would you consider XHY as a good option or a combination of other bond ETF's, if so what others would you recommend?
Thanks

Q: I am looking to balance my portfolio by sector and global geography by recommended asset mix based for my circumstances. Can I scan all 5i reports and answered questions by sector? Is the best method to see geographic allocation for a given selection of stocks within a sector to create a portfolio (of only the selected stocks in a sector) and then run 'Portfolio Tracking and Analytics'? Thank you.

Q: Hi Team,
Which of these names do you see doing best from current levels 5 yrs from now? Sq, LMN, WELL, or SHOP. I am currently holding a few shares of sq and am considering selling out for a 18% loss and putting the funds to one of the other names mentioned. Whats your thoughts ? Or should I just continue to wait for a recovery in Sq? Or if you have any other “must buy” names today that are better than all the ones mentioned I would like to hear those ideas too. The holding is inside a tfsa. Thanks for your advice !

Q: If you didn't have any shares in these companies wouldn't this be a good time to buy and slowly add over the next couple years. My thinking is CTS just has to go back to three dollars and your up 20%. They are buying back shares, dividend, huge ebitda etc. Board makes a few tweeks and sentiment and direction changes. I understand if you have a position to hold. Do you generally agree with the above.

Q: Sorry for another NVEI question.
In the responses on NVEI, 5i considers it a HOLD. I'm down 60% in a taxable account and will probably sell for tax reasons. My plan was to buy it back after 30 days.

What would it take for your recommendation to become a "buy" or "add to an existing position"? On the other hand at what point does it become a "sell"?

Are you considering the same "hold" status for the growth portfolio of will you be making changes with NVEI?
Thanks

Q: Hi!

Here is a puzzler for you....

In essence my question boils down to if/when one should sell an "A"- quality. dividend paying stock.

Example: I bought 100 shares of BNS at $55 and it went all the way to $92. I am still holding it (did not sell at all). It is now at $65. I get about $400/year in dividends.

A quick calculation shows that had I sold at $92, I would have gained about $4000 which is about 10 years worth of dividends without the wait.

Is there a handy approach to win in this sort of situation?
