Q: Peter and his Wonder Team
Bullion has been moving up and most golds are following...however today ASR lost 4.5%. Why are they not following the trend? Is there any negative news or problems in Turkey, the Swiss currency, profit taking or just a strange day? Please give me your thoughts...Thank you!

Q: Is there a relationship between the two more recent announcements:
1.share buyback
2. rescinded rake fee hike

and the guidance given awhile back to expect earnings to be at the higher end of expectations?

Further, did the share buyback require special approval from either the board or debt holders? If so, would that too be an indication of how well business is going?

Q: Hi Peter & team, as of Friday's market close, G and K are up over 30% YTD. Apart from strength in gold price, are there any other reasons for this sudden upward move? Can we expect this trend to continue or will it reverse its course as it did in many occasions in the recent past. Thank you.

Q: Some TSX-traded companies - TCN and DR are just examples, perhaps you can suggest others - carry on most or all of their operations in the United States. If their market caps have been boosted by the Canadian dollar's decline, then will the opposite occur when oil+gas stabilize? As such, might these stocks be topping-out now?

Q: I have an unusual request. I have been organizing an investment contest at work since 2002 on Globe Investor - Portfolio at no cost. Being a DIY investor it gave me an opportunity to talk about investing with my colleagues. When I went to input the 2015 portfolios this weekend I received a message that the Globe and Mail no longer supports this site and it suggested that I use the Globe Unlimited site at a cost. I registered for this site and paid the monthly fee. When I went to create the 2015 portfolios on Globe Unlimited I found they had made major changes to the input screen which made it virtually impossible for me to update the portfolios. My question is does anyone know of a site I can use for our investment contest? I have 26 entries all assuming they have $100,000 and have 8 to 20 companies in each of the portfolios that must invest in companies trading on the TMX. I would like to have a system where I can input the portfolios all in one input page (like the old system did)and have the system determine the purchase price based on the date entered. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

Q: I am looking for a growth story for my non-reg account. Any thoughts on purchasing either CXR or GUD (or perhaps both) at their current valuations. I currently have no healthcare exposure and am looking to rotate some funds out of Cdn bank holdings into more growth oriented stories.

Thank You

Q: Hi 5i Team,

If you were to bet on a stabilization of oil prices and a slight increase later in 2015, which of the following stocks would you buy: Chevron (CVX), British Petroleum (BP) or Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.B).

Many thanks!

Q: My impression is that Bellatrix is a quality company with good management, but it has really been beaten up in this oil price crash. Orange Capital has indicated that they want to control the company and make changes to improve shareholder value, and Orange now own something like 20% of the shares I think. I'm holding on to my shares, in the expectation that something good will happen. What do you think?

Q: I am helping a friend with his university course on sports finance. It is the old game of pick stocks and invest $100k in play money. We are doing much of the decision making based on the data on the G & M watchlists. Here is the current lineup. Any other names you can think of to study that may ( or may not) be a good investment. Game is to end of March only, and only NYSE or NASDAQ stocks.
- Artic Cat
- Callaway Golf
- Collectors Universe ( thanks to 5-I)
- Columbia Sportswear
- Dick's Sporting Goods
- Electronic Arts (EA Sports)
- Escalade (bit of a stretch but the yield looks good)
- Life Time Fitness
- Madison Square Garden
- Nautilus
- Nike
- UnderArmour
- Vail Resorts
- Walt Disney
Thanks for your help.
