I have an additional 5 years before having to withdraw funds. Thank you for all the valuable information I have received through your question and answer coverage.

Q: Hello Peter and team
This just in from my alert settings;
Avigilon's Board of Directors believes the current price of Avigilon's common shares (the "Shares") does not properly reflect the underlying strength, operational track record, and growth potential of the business. Accordingly, the Board believes the purchase and cancellation of Shares under the Bid will be in the best interests of the Company and its remaining shareholders.
Looks like good news amongst all the hate!

Q: What happened yesterday? Normal volatility?
Q: I have held Fiera for about a year with little to show for it but the dividend. You have spoken highly of CIX but it hasn't moved much in a year either. Given their dividends are similar, is it worth switching out of FSZ into CIX or would you consider that a lateral move?
Thanks for the insight.

Q: Finally, Fernandez may have got the message!!? Your reaction & opinion with respect to the TSX approval today of "a normal course issuer bid" for up to 10% of the current issued & outstanding. Looks good, however the timing with no obligation is only good for a year. What do you think?
Q: Peter and Co.
I own IPL, PPL, ALA, VET and PEY in the energy/utility sectors. With everything that's going on in Alberta what is your advice on these stocks? They are all excellent companies, so do I bail out on them and put the proceeds into tech, healthcare and consumer stocks, or should I hold on, or even buy more as the prices are low knowing that eventually they will recover. In your model balanced portfolio, the only energy stock you have is Enbridge. I am a long term buy and hold type of investor but I've been thinking for a while now that maybe I should just get out of the energy sector all together...
My other holdings include (CNR CCL.B CGX DHX MG SJ T BCE BNS TD VEF VFV VUS DH OTC CSU GIB.A ESL BIN ATD.B WSP PHM BAD & CXI)
This investing thing is harder than it looks! Thanks for all of your sound advice.

Q: Do you only have to wait 30 days to repurchase a stock if the sale will be used as a loss?
I sold a half position in a company "for a gain", if this company drops in price over the next few days can I buy it back?
Thanks as always,
Paul

Q: What are your thoughts on IAM? Thanks Cameron.
Q: Hi 5i,
What is your opinion of HHF (Horizons Morningstar Hedge Fund Index ETF)? Does it provide a means to get access to hedge fund strategy without being a client of a hedge fund? If so what percent of an overall portfolio is reasonable to be allocated to this ETF?
Thank you.

Q: Healthcare makes up 7% of one of my portfolios, and I want to increase this to 10%. It consists of 5 stocks: CXR (2.3%), DR (2.2%), and CCT, GUD, and PHM each less than 1%, and all in a non-registered account. Eventually I need to replace CCT since it has been taken over.
I have been looking to add from the following companies: CPH, CRH, CXR, GUD, PHM, PLI, and RX.
I can hold for 5 years and can tolerate some risk. Please help me figure out what stocks I should acquire to diversify within the sector to bring my weighting up to 10%, and explain why. I have room in my TFSA, so some additions could be in that account if you feel they are better placed in that account.
Thanks,
Paul J

Q: If it was a large position because of years of share price appreciation, would you reduce IPL in light of the new Alberta NDP government's negative stance on pipelines? I reduced back at $35 when oil prices started to fall and it had been recovering until the Alberta election. I am fully taxable on my gains.I have held it since 2009.
Q: Do you believe the NDP have scared away all investment in oil and gas and is it a place to completely avoid now? god help us all...thanks.
Q: Hello, could please comment on the recent TOU stock price weakness.
Q: Hi, Can you please provide your analysis of KBL earnings?
Also, is it a good buy at current levels ($50-$51)for dividend and some capital growth? Thanks

Q: Any idea why HCG down 5% today? Earnings report was not great but seems OK to me.
