Q: Hi peter I recently read a "research report" citing the wrong dividend yield for COS. At the current price of $10 and change and the annual yield at 80 cents annually the yield is around 7.5% give or take a basis point or two. I mention this because at these levels a yield in this range is sustainable even at oil $52/barrel. Do you agree? Do you see another quick leg down for oil prices only to spring back up to the magical prices area just below where most shale producers are still losing money (65). Thanks.

Q: Happy New Year..
I have been conservative in my TFSA. Was thinking of selling SLF, BMO, and CM. All up 30 to 50%. Taking on more risk/potential growth..SGY, ARE, RRX,DHX.B and MND. They seem beat up and I have plenty of time and do not need the cash. Not being greedy, just thinking I'm not using the TFSA to its full potential. Can you comment and add two or three other suggestions?
Thanks
Paul

Q: Happy New Year. I have a 30 stock portfolio that is equal weighted. One of the position is BPF.UN. I have concerns that Boston Pizza will face headwinds this year given 103 out of 358 stores are located in Alberta and that part of the Canadian economy will taking it on the chin due to lower oil prices. Is this a concern? If you held this would you continue to hold? many thanks.

Q: Hi Peter, Regarding the closing of acquisition of Pioneer Energy:

"Parkland announces that its 2015 guidance of $235 million to $265 million in EBITDA will be reduced due to this delayed closing. Parkland's 2015 guidance will be updated once the consents and approvals have been obtained, and the anticipated closing date for the Acquisition is determined. Parkland does not expect the annualized EBITDA of the Acquisition of approximately $55 million to be affected by this delayed closing."

What are your thoughts on this? How would this affect the stock price? I own it @ 21.50....if affected negatively, would it be a good idea to sell and repurchase at a lower price?

Thank you! and I wish you, your team and all the members a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year!!

Q: Next question. If you open a tax free account today is the limit you can invest starting this year or is it cumulative for the time the program was introduced. So can I put in $35000.00?

Q: Hi team -

How do you like Trican Well Services in this current environment? How much of a negative is their exposure to Russia? Would you think that any potential dividend cut would be already possibly priced into the stock?.

Thanks.

Jim

Q: If you open a tax free account today and only put in say $100.00. Does the maximum carry over to the following year. In other words if the limit this year is $5500.00 and you only put in $100.00 can you then put in $5500.00 in 2016 plus the $5400.00 carry over from 2015.

Would EIF's improved status as a company justify an inclusion of any or all of the E,F,G convertible debentures as this years TFSA contribution?

Q: Hi folks. What are your thoughts on the risk reward of nevsun? Is this a buy at these prices or can it be bought at lower prices later next year? Do you think they can switch from mainly copper to zinc in the short term to increase their profits?

Q: Hi:
I am considering using my wife's and my TFSA to invest in high yield Canadian Equities (i.e. anything paying 3% and above). As opposed to reinvesting the dividends, I plan on withdrawing the cash to provide a little extra income. If I didn't sell any of the equities and withdrew only the interest, would my contribution room "grow" commensurate with the withdrawals?

Q: Hi guys, and happy New Years.
A couple of recent guests on BNN have expressed the opinion that utilities are not the place to be in the new year. What do you think? And if utilities are expected to lag, will the go-to sector be tech and biotech or something else? I'm asking with respect to utilities in general as I own XLU, and also specifically about AQN.

Q: Hi Team:
This Reit has dropped in share value, is it related to the falling oil prices that could affect the economy out West ?
Is the P/E ratio still high compared to Cdn Reit, H&R and Riocan ?
I am thinking of adding Bei.un for some income and growth to my portfolio, I already own the other 3 Reits mentioned above,
please comment if the payout ratio is reasonable or not, thanks!

Q: Happy New year 5i team!
I own Chemtrade in a non registered account having bought it for income without realizing how much of its "dividend" is actually interest. My thought is to transfer it to my TFSA. Since it will be a deemed sale anyway, is there a better stock in the materials sector that I should consider instead of Chemtrade, bearing in my mind that I own it for income. Many thanks for your continued valuable service.

p.s. Will we be able to track our number of questions when we post them?
